Hey @NathanHochmanDA, is it okay for LA County Officials to use their title to endorse candidates for office? If not, who would we report infractions to?
@FilmThePoliceLA A few years ago, I was in a meeting with LAPPL and they were complaining about morale, retention, and recruiting. I asked if they had tried killing fewer people. It didn't go over well and they suggested "every dime in the city" would be a better way to address the issue.
It is definitely the language that has put a chill on civic participation, not the way Council treats public comment. Meetings are held downtown during work hours, you can only comment in person, you might not get called, and the CMs mill around and ignore you during your 1 min.
@agoodney Google just reminded me that 2 years ago today I took her to the LB pier to get fish for lunch just because we were down there and I thought she'd like it.
Violette took her last trip to the beach on Wednesday, followed by a last meal at Sonic (chili cheese dog, side of bacon, banana shake). She passed peacefully at the vet's office after fighting lung cancer for the last 10 months. She was the sweetest girl and a hardcore beast.
She had previously fought cancer and won in 2023, but it came back. The typical prognosis for dog lung cancer is 2-3 months, so 10 months is pretty remarkable. My girl is a fighter.
It's what I assume is Vi's last bday (due to her lung cancer). We went to the dog beach, and I got the girls sushi (veggie rolls), birthday bash treats, and dog cupcakes from the dog bakery. She is enjoying her day thoroughly.
In honor of the 4 year anniversary of 15 days to slow the spread, share your most ridiculous Covid story.
Mine was from vacation that year where they made everyone leave the pool once an hour to spray the handrails with disinfectant lol
