@tech_steam I teach a 6th grade STEAM; digital design is one of the options, I start with a discussion of pixels & students design a pixel self portrait w/ Google spreadsheets with custome formatting. I connect why images blur, different file types, and walk through the EDP.

@GiftedTawk I teach STEAM as an elective in 6th grade. W/40 min periods -25%mindfulness-social/emotional (self/social awareness, decision making skills, goal setting/reflection, etc)75% hands on design thinking tasks while reinforcing above skills. Emphasize divergent thinking & curiosity.

@GiftedTawk @rjwhite88 I’ve laser cut bird houses 4 students that have interlocking pieces & used wood glue to add support. Tricky part =making sure measurements R accurate to accommodate angles of the roof. I also suggest a larger base as a perch and space for seeds. We Prototyped w/cardboard 1st.
