Some technical details are still to be resolved. But, in principle, it can be done to time and budget. Only issue outstanding is political will.. !

A build cost of less than £10m/km due to its lo impact on existing roads makes this a viable option for North Staffordshire. Our previous proposals were ruled unaffordable by DfT after the Edinburgh tram exceeded £70m/km

@otboae @Regenerate_SOT There's no need to reinvent the wheel. Look at the Work Foundation papers from 2008, the North Staffs Regen Zone prospectus, the LEP papers and the City Deal from 2012. It needs to be completed not abandoned part way through

Without the M6 every town throughout the Midlands & NW would be grid locked. We experience that whenever an incident or roadworks close it down. The M6 'love it or loathe it' is #criticalinfrastructure for towns along it's route
