@DanielsonPhil@AmericanAir@AmericanAir this entire process has been so frustrating. It would have been more likely that the misdirected bag would be found if ANY of your agents that were called repeatedly in the beginning had been empowered to actually help. So many missed chances to fix this!
Here's an update to the continuing story of a young man trying to do his job well and being prevented from doing so by @AmericanAir. As a reminder, American Airlines sent my son-in-law's professional camera gear to the wrong country, on the wrong continent, after making him gate-check it on one leg of the flight.
As an added element to this story, we've discovered that the American Air employees that gate-checked the gear registered it to the wrong passenger. Error upon error upon error.
American Air said a number of things last night, and that our son in law would be hearing from someone after 3 am Eastern Time once the Guyana Airport opened. He did not. When he called customer service again this morning, they had zero notes about all of the previous conversations. In fact, they had the bag marked to return to the wrong US City!
He has an air tag in the bag and he can tell that at least the bag is still sitting at the wrong international airport. That information has been sent to American.
This young man has spent hours and hours of his time the last few days trying to keep American Airlines straight, rather than doing the job he trusted American to get him there to do.

From my son in law, this is a if deal for this young man and his business:
American Airlines lost more than my bag and my professional equipment — they lost my trust.
As a professional photographer, my camera gear is my livelihood. When @americanair forced me to gate-check a carry-on containing all my equipment, which I had as a carry on for the first leg of my flight, I was concerned. When they sent my bag to the wrong country—and it ended up in Guyana instead of Georgetown, Bahamas—I lost more than luggage.
I lost the opportunity to do the job I was hired to do. I missed the opportunity to do as good of a job as I could - a professional commitment I take seriously.
Photographers, creatives, and business travelers rely on our tools. We shouldn’t be forced to surrender them without cause. And when mistakes happen, accountability should follow.
And as I speak with American Airlines - repeatedly - about getting my equipment back, I’m told that all they can do is send emails. I am stranded without my professional equipment with no one @AmericanAirlines able to help me.
American Airlines, it’s time to do right by your passengers. #AirlineAccountability #CreativeProfessionals #PhotographerLife #TravelFail #AmericanAirlines #DoBetter

@BechtelHealth on Democratizing Health Data @CambiaGrove. Policy makers can continue to change trajectory of how we pay for healthcare. Incentivize all in health to make data more available and actually use it. Data as a public good not competitive edge. #datainteroperability
This resonated. As a first-time HIMSS attendee, it’s jarring to see the visual representation of resource and innovation in healthcare compared to how messy it still is. @Cambia working to do our part in many ways - including leaning in on data interoperability https://t.co/9Vi2ikDo3e
