"...cases of cervical cancer fell by 87 percent among those who received the vaccine..."

Listening to discussions regarding private-public health care delivery at #CMAHealthSummit. Thank you to Erik Sandie @Medavie, @TCOrobin, and @HasanMSheikh for your insight.
An incredible day learning about bold solutions to improve health care in Canada. Access and equity are key issues. Topics discussed included admin burden, team-based care, and health misinformation #CMAHealthSummit
Thank you @JoshGreggain for taking the time to discuss some of the healthcare issues facing those living in rural BC!
Thank you @BirinderNarang for your amazing selfie taking skills 😌
Thank you MP @karen_vecchio for meeting with us to discuss the health human resource crisis. We look forward to working together on policies that improve health workforce planning and a pan-Canadian licensure. @CFMSFEMC#CFMSDayofAction#MedicalTraining
The fact that the Ontario government watched our public healthcare system collapse due to underfunding...but set aside public funding just so they could invest in private for-profit healthcare…tells you everything you need to know about their priorities.
@CaressantL has co-located RH and LTC home(s) where all residents and visitors have to enter through the LTC entrance. RH residents/visitors must walk past indoor dining areas in LTC to enter. Why not staff the RH entrance with a screener?#profitsoverpeople
@jenndavi_ We take dir from PHU / implement best practices to keep covid out- one point of entry so people don’t sneak in other entrances who are not screened, and as for walking by/thorough an area – residents wouldn’t be allowed to walk from LTC to the RH side indoors unless screened neg.
@CaressantL How many of your homes share a single entrance between the RH and LTC residences due to not staffing the RH entrance? For each of these homes, please indicate who directed this decision.
@CaressantL They are separate homes. Residents in one home having to walk past the dining room of another is an added level of risk and a safety concern, regardless of outbreak status. Who directed the homes to do this?
@CaressantL If supply chain challenges are the only barrier to providing A/C to residents, are you ordering units for all LTC and retirement homes now? This could have been done years ago before a provincial mandate and supply chain issues. Make a change and choose people over profits!❤️
Throughout the pandemic, for-profit LTC homes have fared worse than non-profit ones in taking care of residents with double the deaths per 100 beds during outbreaks. It is time to end for-profit LTC once and for all. #OMSADoA2022#LTCJusticeNow#onpoli
@CaressantL@OLTCAnews There are currently 5 residents and 2 staff with COVID at this home. They have a documented history of many COVID-related infection prevention and control violations recorded by the ministry. Outbreaks are preventable and isolation kills, stop manipulating the narrative.
@DrVivianS@CaressantL Better PPE for retirement and long term care! Cases are increasing and test results are delayed. I thought you were taking “extraordinary” measures?
@CaressantL Transmission is still occurring in your homes despite your “extraordinary” measures. Providing N95 masks to all staff and residents during an outbreak is not an extraordinary measure. Please do better to keep your residents and staff safe.
