Political violence is disgustingly and deeply saddening.

Personally, and I can be swayed here, I don’t think we should platform the shooter. Giving them a name and legacy, to me, is more than they deserve.

Further, and again, I am asking questions here, would our country be better if we returned to a system where the winner was President, and the person that came in second was Vice President? Would rank choice voting pivot our visceral Red v. Blue game into a focus more on implying a difference or two in platform, strategy, and experience?

Would that also destroy mainstream “us v. them” media like CNN v. Fox?

Since spending time in DC during the 2016 cycle, I have distanced myself publicly from much conversation about how I believe our system is less than desired. But scary events like today lead me to question, can solutions be implemented?
