I wrote this about @Keir_Starmer on 7 July 2024, days after he won a phenomenal landslide. I remember the joy and light that flooded Twitter. Finally! A PM we could be proud of. A lot of us haven't forgotten that monumental achievement. #starmermuststay

@RachelReevesMP' 1st budget - £74bn extra spending. @JohnHealey_MP's - £380m. For all @andyburnham’s soaring rhetoric his 1st budget was 0.5% of Starmer’s.
"This isn't how the King of the North wants you to see him. Listen to him speak, and you hear a changemaker, an ideas man, a leader with a 10-year plan. But does he put his money where his mouth is? Does he heck. The anxiety I have heard for months from so many of his advisers and MPs was borne out in this budget: he’s big talk and small stick." [Emphasis is mine.] https://t.co/72UfPyk9B3
@CultrHack@nytimes I agree, although I think he's done a real number on convincing at least some voters that Israel could face extinction if he's not in power. They see what they want to see. Hopefully Netanyahu won't be able to form a govt. 🙏
@JohnHealey_MP@HouseofCommons I'll pass. Saying there's breathing space for today highlights that there won't be any quite soon and generates panic about tomorrow. I'm sick of your hypocrisy.
