•The U.S. Senate may hold a floor vote TODAY which would overturn a 20-year moratorium on sulfide-ore copper mining on 225,000 acres of Superior National Forest land in the watershed of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) Wilderness in northern Minnesota. The Boundary Waters is the most visited Wilderness in the United States.
🛶 Enjoying the Minnesotan/Canadian wilderness by canoe or other lesser watercraft is one of our nations greatest available pastimes, and one I have personally enjoyed my entire life. We must protect these public lands from the rapacious capitalists threatening to turn them into a poisoned wasteland.
•This vote in Congress would open the door to copper mining at the headwaters of this entire ecosystem. This kind of mining produces toxic pollution, including acid runoff and heavy metals, that can contaminate nearby waters.
•The Boundary Waters supports a major outdoor economy that sustains thousands of jobs and generates over a billion dollars a year - built on clean water and intact public lands. But this vote would clear the way for toxic mining that puts all of that at risk. It would also set a dangerous precedent, making it easier to roll back protections for public lands across the country, including wilderness areas, national monuments, and national parks.
•This is a defining moment. If you care about clean water, public lands, and protecting places we can’t replace, now is the time to speak up.
•Protect the Boundary Waters, and vote NO on House Joint Resolution 140. Let’s save this treasured place for all of us—forever. https://t.co/JhNAR6Za2O
The First Amendment already “bans Sharia law.”
It also bans the government from imposing any religious law — including the Christian nationalism that Senator Tuberville is so eager to codify.
"I've said since 2017 that Kushner is my litmus test of whether the US is an entrenched mafia state, and we keep failing. He is not an official member of the US government, but we are not really ruled by the US government: we are ruled by a shadow government, and he is a reigning member."

So Trump is unilaterally committing $10B of US tax payer money...
To an offshore entity that he controls and is the lifelong chairman of.
He is robbing America blind, and about 1/3rd of the country is too stupid to see it!
A young violinist was nervous about meeting with Epstein due to his 2008 child sex abuse conviction. Epstein reassured her by noting his friendship with @BardCollege’s Leon Botstein, and set up a dinner between Botstein and the musician. She soon became one of Epstein’s victims.
There's this now-pervasive idea that endemic corruption is new, singularly Trump driven & purely a product of Citizens United.
This is false & delusional.
Here's the truth: A handful of people executed a specific plan over 50 years.
Please educate yourself & pass it on👇

The FDA won’t tell Americans where their generic drugs are made, so ProPublica built the Rx Inspector tool to show you.
Now a proposed bill would also require manufacturing location information on packaging for both generic and brand-name drugs.

NEW: On this week's 50-year anniversary of Buckley v Valeo decision engineered by John Bolton and other master planners, new survey data show almost nobody in America believes buying elections is free speech.
That public outcry can boost new state anti-corruption initiatives.
John Bolton was the architect of the money-in-speech idea that was enshrined by the Supreme Court 50 years ago this week in a case bankrolled by Charles Koch.
In MASTER PLAN, we uncovered his 1973 booklet that ended up legalizing corruption in America.

We can do away with it without a new Supreme Court. Nor do we need a constitutional amendment. There’s a far simpler way to get rid of Citizens United. Let me explain. https://t.co/w811nFqvPW

Meanwhile, an MIT study found that 95% of companies using AI haven't seen returns on investment.
Be warned.
Funny how the MAGAs don't want to talk about the fact that Donald Trump's "closest spiritual advisor" just plead guilty to molesting a 12 year old girl
This is due to a law signed by Ronald Reagan and has nothing to do with this shutdown fight.
But consider this...
Emergency Medicaid spending in 2023 cost $3.4 billion — just 0.4% of total Medicaid spending.
Now what about the $20 billion taxpayers are giving to Argentina?
