This account is mostly about language. I occasionally go off-topic.
You're *always* learning a language. You're always and already immersed in one language or another. The only question is which one. There are no language-free moments in your life.
#immersion
@joehas My mother-in-law is Irish-American and this helps me understand her a *whole* lot better. My husband is a lot like his mom and this drives me crazy as I'm very direct
A woman came up to me an introduced herself in Spanish. Someone sent her over to me and told her that I did. True, but I was not in speak Spanish mode at that moment. I was quite unprepared. Felt like I couldn't string 2 sentences together. The conversation was awkward. Oh well.
I have a Korean friend who regularly asks me about my progress. It’s been on the back burner since I started my not so new job. Time to pull it up to the front now
I got a part time almost a year ago. Occasionally a customer comes in who speaks Spanish and almost no English. It’s always very humbling for both of us.
I love when my kids have their friends over but it always throws off my routine. Then I have to force myself to get back on track. I’m getting better at it, though. These languages won’t learn themselves.
