Now in our area all the lifeguards are employed by agencies and are deployed or contracted to pools. You have to be able to drive to do it. So it’s mostly college students.

@PresNevins @BorjomiDrinker My daughter won’t be able to drive anyone in her car until after she graduates HS the way it’s set up in MD. Ridiculous. It really limits them!! Hard to hang out when you can’t carpool for months.

Can’t drive around the streets or you’re pulled over for being suspicious (happened to my daughter and her friends. They were just lost) there aren’t enough jobs for adults

@DavidNesmith18 @Unixsystem13 @StephenFleming Changed the laws! When I learned to drive I was the last generation in my state that had it “easy”. The ppl in charge in 1997 who are def not millennials changed it to two full weeks of 3 hours a day of drivers Ed and the price has $$$$$ dramatically. You have to be 16.5 now.

@kmo_anywhere @quiet_her @StephenFleming This is definitely an issue. Three hours a day for two straight weeks and you can’t miss a class for $499. Plus 6 hours behind the wheel with an instructor that’s hard to schedule. It’s a lot

@JenOliverQC @quiet_her @StephenFleming This a real problem in my town. There aren’t enough jobs for the adults much less the kids. A lot of kids drive 45min for a $16/hr job. Wasting gas.

@StephenFleming My two kids love to drive and have done so since they can at 16.5. Drivers Ed was like $500 per kid tho and the process is long and drawn out. Car insurance is through the roof. Parents may be behind this. “I’ll just drive you”

@WestonMantooth @buaalicious Hilarious. I work 8-5 and get home around 6:30. I have three kids. If I went to the gym. Which is 30 min from my house, I wouldn’t see them. Or make them dinner.
