Ukraine‘s president Zelenskyy in an interview with Skynews disclosed that Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich came to Kyiv, Ukraine. This secret meeting took place recently and Zelenskyy made clear that Ukraine is not going to surrender any parts of Ukraine, including Donbas. Zelenskyy said that the only compromise he is willing to take is an unconditional ceasefire.
This are interesting news. Abramovich would have never come to Kyiv if this wasn’t sanctioned by Putin. In other words, Putin blinked.
GPS jamming has reached space, and from orbit a single source can blank an entire continent at once, far beyond any jammer on the ground.
Scientists traced short GPS outages across Europe, from Iceland to Italy, to three Russian satellites in at least 3 of 75 cases logged since 2019, NYT. 1/
I'm not sure the Irish understand the damage the recent story of their pumping economic support into Putin's war machine is doing to their reputation in Central/East Europe. The idea of Ireland standing on the side of the oppressed against imperialists is gone, probably forever.
This is really stupid, and it’s not getting enough attention.
The Trump administration is pulling a working $368 million ocean monitoring system out of the water, equipment taxpayers already bought, built, and sank into the deep ocean.
And they are doing it right when the oceans are behaving in ways that alarm the scientists who study them.
Record-breaking temperatures.
A system of Atlantic currents that may be lurching toward collapse.
The response?
Yank out the instruments and walk away.
That is not budgeting. That is smashing the gauges while the engine is on fire and calling it efficiency.
For what? The Trump administration dressed it up as a “nimbler approach” and “smart lifecycle management,” which is fancy nonsense for “we shut it off and hoped nobody would ask why.” There is no return-on-investment analysis. They cannot show taxpayers save a dime, because the gear is already paid for and the science it produces protects real money and real lives.
The kicker: the same people killing the monitors want to mine the deep sea for minerals. So they are destroying the only tools that could measure what that mining does. That is not an accident.
That is the point. You cannot see the damage if you break the instruments first.

Crazy that this is getting barely any coverage. This year’s European Press Prize was just awarded to an investigative report by the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant. It is entitled “What the Wounds Tell” and in it the journalists Maud Effting and Willem Feenstra document the cases of 114 children in Gaza under the age of 15 who were struck by a single bullet to the head or chest. Almost all of them died or were left severely disabled. They chose to document only the cases of boys and girls under the age of 15 (though often much younger: aged 3, 4 or 7) because these are children who can be immediately identified as such. “A single bullet in these parts of the body is a clear indication that these children were deliberately targeted“, the two journalists write.

Was diese Sensoren messen: Meerestemperaturen. Strömungen. Salzgehalt.

The visa chaos continues: Leave the US within 24 hours.
The Iranian national team has landed at its new training base in Mexico, but large parts of the delegation’s leadership are still being denied entry to the United States.
On Saturday came the news that Iran is accusing the US of unfair treatment after a significant portion of the country’s World Cup delegation was refused visas.
Now the Iranian football federation is furious and threatening to take the matter to FIFA.
The Iranian national football team has left Turkey and headed to Mexico to prepare for the upcoming World Cup. But the build-up is overshadowed by deep political divisions and travel chaos, according to the Daily Mail.
🚨There’s currently 2x Estonian owned Ships from Hansa Shipping at anchor in the Shannon Estuary, waiting for a free berth on Aughinish pier where they will on-load Alumina before sailing for Russia
Between them, enough Alumina to smelt approx 7500 tons of Aluminium #Alumina21
The United States has denied a visa for Iran's national team manager Mehdi Mohammadnabi.
He will be barred entering the U.S. for their the Fifa #WorldCup 2026 matches.
He & others also denied visas will travel to the team camp in Mexico whilst efforts to obtain visas continue.
This is Oleh.
He was 2.
russia decided that was enough.
A missile hit his home, killing Oleh, his mother, and 14 neighbors.
He never saw peace.
Never started school.
Never had a future.
His life ended before it began.
Questa roba deve finire all’istante. La raffineria va sanzionata, chiusa e basta.
🚨Caolan confirms he has obtained a sample of Alumina from Aughinish which he plans to get forensically tested against Russian battlefield debris which may prove the link between Russian weapons and Aughinish Alumina. #Alumina21
1/ Russia's corrupt elites are drinking 'Long Epstein Island' cocktails in St Petersburg while soldiers and civilians die, Crimea is effectively cut off, the Donbas is under constant attack, and Russian defenders struggle, an angry Russian warblogger complains. ⬇️
This young man @CaolanReports is terrific, and what he's reporting here👇about Irish politicians shames them and the country. They deserve to be exposed. Transparency should be the foundation of democracy, not an optional extra. Here, we see them avoiding this issue and hiding from scrutiny. Our foreign affairs minister has been telling anyone who'll listen that Ireland stands firmly behind and with Ukraine. The Taoiseach has said of Russia, “We have fully supported the sanctions packages agreed to date and are actively engaged with partners in looking at what further measures can be taken.” Of course, he's changed his mind quite a lot since then and now thinks that sanctioning Limerick-based plant Aughinish Alumina, which has a Russian parent company, would damage Ireland and the EU more than Russia. Now, the policy of the Irish government seems to be that ‘we will support sanctions if they don't affect us’. Kinda explains the logic behind the Occupied Territories Bill, insofar as we can support something that doesn't cost us anything, while using it to boast on the world stage about how principled we are.
Irish politicians who are shying away from this issue or avoiding questions about it are eroding trust and weakening democracy. It's shameful, and it shames them and us as a country
Rusal, the company that owns the Aughinish Alumina, continues to be controlled by sanctioned Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, according to a confidential report by Swedish tax authorities.
