@mightydudbolt I’ll defend Jackson by saying the intent is different.
The ghost army is meant to be creepy, but the focus is less on how dangerous they are, and more on how corpse-like they are.
This has the benefit of making them kind of pathetic, fragile, which adds to their cursed nature.

Game Isekais then influence all isekais which influence all fantasy, and while the actual game gets scrubbed away, the mechanics remain.

Okay, I'm not gonna lie. This scene looks way more terrifying in OG FF7 than it did in Rebirth.

Maybe it's of the game looking the way that it does due to the PS1's limitations, that whenever a CG cutscene like this pops up, it makes it feel more harrowing.

My “headcanon” is just a reading based primarily on the films and not the shows.
