Untreated pain puts me at 8-10 using this scale,
although I gave up going to ER for help with pain years ago.
It led my a full body shut down last yr too.
Treated pain puts me at about a 4-6.
This is the reality of my #chronicpain.

Why do CPPs not get addicted to their opioids? (And that is a known fact to me) My theory is that the presence of chronic pain negates the positive dopamine neural nets. Addiction is intimately involved with the stimulation of the dopamine neural network. CPPs don't have this.

@KittenKat357 They used to tell me that all of the time. But they stop my meds years ago, and my skin still hurts like Hell, and now I can barely get up. It helped me actually have a life, which I don't now.

Untreated pain creates waves...
It not only affects the person experiencing pain but it affect spouses, children, extended family, co-workers, & friends.
Those waves can be devastating, destroying close family relationships, jobs, marriages, and friendships.

Yep. You are labeled 'combative', aggressive, exhibiting 'drug seeking' behavior, or you just "know too much".
Standing up for ourselves gets us the 'problem patient' designation and you know what happens to problem patients-They find themselves #medicallyabandoned.
