I'm sharing some of the lessons I've learned from surviving diseases and warzones, achieving professional privilege as a physician, and founding/ leading two organisations.

One of the most important attributes of leadership I've found to be valuing each member and partner, regardless of their background, as a deserving human being giving them the respect, voice and means to find purpose and development in the jobs they do. They shouldn't be treated as another 'number' or 'grade'.

I remembered one event when my treating doctor in a refugee camp told me I would be a doctor one day, only guessing from my curiosity. I still remember his words and now I am mindful how my interactions and words might impact others personally and professionally.

I hope you will give this a listen.
