This Friday the California Supermajority is hoping to quietly kill legislation to make child sex trafficking a serious felony. They already voted down the bill once and only revived it when Californians spoke out.

At Friday's hearing, the fate of @ShannonGroveCA's bill will simply be announced along with 100 others. It will not be debated, discussed, or even voted on. Within a span of a few seconds, the Chair will either advance it or kill it using confusing terminology like "A roll call" or "B roll call."

The whole process is designed to avoid accountability. Yet if the bill dies, it will be a conscious decision by the Members of the Committee listed below. This is how my own bill to increase penalties for human trafficking died a few years ago.

Please make sure to let the committee members know your thoughts on the legislation before the hearing.
