Over the weekend I completed my THIRD Global Game Jam, and my 6th Game Jam overall.
I worked in an amazing team of 7, and we are proud to present MOVING DAY, a local coop party game.

Happy birthday to the website that became the inspiration and starting block of many game developers!
The games industry wouldn’t be the same without MiniClip.
Does anyone else use BlueSky?
I’ve most been using it to follow other game developers, so right now my account is less personal and more…business, with a more personal touch.
I’m @jepdraper.bsky.social on there!
Would be nice to reconnect with some of the people I met here.
So I ended up watching Hillbilly Elegy because 1) the dude is vice president elect of the United States, and 2) it got nominated for a Raspberry award (I.e. one of the worst films of the year), but it ended up being a lot better than I was expecting.
Whenever I see a TODO I just think of that one comment in ‘The Simpsons: Hit and Run’ code that’s like “TODO: Review why the hell you are doing this. This one’s pretty important, I think.”
I fucked up.
I had to upgrade my website because it’s version of PHP is now a LTS paid thing.
A later version of PHP doesn’t work without me upgrading the CMS.
The CMS wouldn’t let me upgrade without uninstalling it first.
I thought I had a backup, but can’t find it.
All the news of Habbo Hotel: Origins reminds me of how my first real attempt at game dev was when I used to set up Habbo Retros with my friends using Hamachi, and Piczo.
So I’ve got a Unity issue that is completely ruining my life and needs to be fixed.
On some Android devices, there are duplicate opaque, unselectable sprites.
The game originally used Unity 5, and I upgraded it to Unity 2017 to fix a pre-existing issue.
I’ve tried reimporting
Tried adjusting what the camera blocks. That hasn’t fixed it.
Never had it happen before. Doesn’t seem to be much help online.
Graphic settings are seemingly no different from games that don’t have this issue.
Uses GLE2 exclusively.
Very much at a loss.
The project, and that still had the same issue.
Looked online and it apparently occurred on some Linux systems running Unity 5, and I’m using MacOS so both are Unix based.
Online advice suggested deleting the contents of the scene then undoing it. That didn’t fix it.
