@AgeOfEmpires I don't think we'll have long on this patch as the March PUP is out and will most likely be released by the end of month. Hopefully we have enough time on this pathing patch to get some more reasonable sample sizes.

Stats are now published for the latest @AgeOfEmpires II patch! Patch 104954 changed pathing and regrouping behavior of units. Sample sizes are smallish. Notably some archer civs have jumped up in the standings: Mayans, Ethiopians, and Britons as standouts https://t.co/IOmMqXeoD9

I'm very surprised we haven't seen Incas played in the main event of #HC5 yet. They've been picked 3 times, but not played. In the quals they were picked and played quite frequently and had at 57.9% win rate! Strong civ! Perhaps due to less Arabia games?

My two thoughts:
1. I don't think Lierrry is in the finals. Maybe because I didn't see him at NAC5, but I don't think he's up to form.
2. I think Sebastian made it further. Godly quals

Mongols have been banned a lot. In the #HC5 main event they have always been picked when not banned. What's unique is that Alexios values Mongols over Chinese. Alexios has first picked Mongols TWICE even though Chinese were available. Who does that?!

Hear me out #HC5 crowd... What if Alexios Komnenos is ACCM? Alexios has first picked Mongols every time they aren't banned and has played them each time. Who values Mongols that much? ACCM. ACCM first picked Mongols when possible in #NAC5! He only lost to the runner up, Yo 4-3🤔

Going through the stats from the qualifiers and the #NAC5 stats for players that were invited, I don't see anyone else value Mongols as highly as ACCM. Is ACCM having a crazy good #HC5 tournament and gonna ruin a lot of predictions? It feels unlikely.... but possible?

Vasco da Gama is on a tear through #HC5 so far! What's fascinating is that they have picked and played Ethiopians twice! No other player in the qualifiers or main event has played Ethiopians! And Ethiopians are the only civ Vasco has played twice!

4 civs remain to be drafted in the main event of #hc5! Tatars, Burmese, Vikings, and the Bulgarians! In the qualifiers only the Bulgarians were never picked.

In the #hc5 qualifiers the Ethiopians were picked only once and were never played. In the main event they were picked and played the first day by Vasco da Gama (my pick to win the whole thing by the way!) So who among the contestants would pick Ethiopians 🤔
