Novak Djokovic on Italy:
“Italy is the most important nation in the history of humanity. Loved for so many obvious things like history, culture, music, food, cars, fashion. I have had in my career a special relationship with Italians, I have worked and continue to work with Italian people in my team, I am proud to speak Italian, which is one of the most beautiful languages. There is so much to admire. I could go on for hours talking about Italy."
I’m sure everyone knows by now just how much Maya loves hockey. Back in 2024, the Tumbler Ridge Raptors girls team put together on short notice, I might add! had the chance to attend Wickfest in Calgary. It was an incredible weekend filled with activities, skill development, and of course, a hockey tournament, where they proudly brought home silver medals in their division. It’s a weekend we’ll never forget! full of excitement, laughter, heart, and hustle.
For those unfamiliar, Wickfest is a world-renowned hockey festival for young female athletes, founded by Hayley Wickenheiser, who represented Canada at the Winter Olympics five times, earning four gold medals and one silver. Maya and her team, along with so many other kids (and parents), had the opportunity to meet her while she was actively involved throughout the event.
The reason I’m sharing all of this is because I want to say a heartfelt thank you to Hayley for taking the time to come visit Maya, check in on her, and leave such a beautiful gift. We spent over an hour talking where she shared kind words, stories, and saw firsthand just how strong Maya is. She could feel that same fighting spirit in her, just like everyone who has been supporting us along this journey. Thank you ❤️ @wick_22
And on another note—Maya had her first shower today! She’s officially squeaky clean… hopefully no more bed baths ❤️

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.
May God bless America.
I acknowledge that the government has access to all kinds of information that I don’t have. They could have reasons for doing what they’re doing that I don’t know about or understand. But that is also the exact argument we heard during COVID, when all of the people with more information chose a course of action that was disastrous for the country, and we still haven’t recovered. I understand that this is a different situation. Maybe the outcome will be different too. But you have to understand that the “trust the experts” logic died with COVID and it’s never coming back. From now on and forever more the experts will need to make their case clearly and coherently, explain exactly what they’re doing and why they’re doing it and what the end game is and what information justifies whatever course of action they’ve chosen. Just simply trusting that they have it all under control is not going to work anymore. At least for those of us with a memory that stretches back farther than last week.
If you’re a proponent of this war, so be it. Make your case. But lecturing skeptics for not “trusting Trump” is the dumbest argument you could possibly make. It is perfectly reasonable for American to be skeptical of regime change wars in the Middle East. Trump himself was skeptical of them. The idea that we are obligated to just assume it’s a good move because Trump decided to do it is asinine, not to mention un-American.
@SaraCivian This white man who identified as trans, dressed like his impression of a cheap hooker at his own son's graduation, just murdered his son.
You can pretend this isn't happening, but we're not going to pretend with you.
RIP Aidan Dorgan.
RACHEL, park that virtue signaling ass right there on the curb and let a gay man who’s actually lived in these trenches drop the unfiltered truth bomb you’ve been dodging for years.
I’ve watched this from the inside of my own community for over a decade. I’ve lost friends, been iced out, called every slur in the book, all because I dared to say the quiet part out loud: rushing minors into early transitioning is child abuse dressed up as compassion.
Irreparable damage to bodies and minds that were never broken to begin with. I’ve screamed this from rooftops while you lot clutched your pearls and screamed “bigot” louder.
And now when one of the worst mass murders in modern Canadian history explodes across the headlines, you suddenly want to pump the brakes? You want to tiptoe around the facts because they torch the fairy tale narrative you’ve been force feeding everyone for years?
Do the entire planet a favour and log off for a few years, take up knitting, and design yourself a flag and a cause to wave around in the privacy of your own home.
