Even small local bakeries that never trade with the EU will have to follow EU rules on ingredients, packaging, and nutritional information. Industry compliance costs are estimated at £2 to £3 billion. They will also face additional compliance costs every time the EU changes its rules.
UK taxpayers will also have to pay the EU for its policy work to create and enforce these rules on UK firms. This could be up to £3 billion a year, every year.
I don’t want to post the video. You’ve all seen it. But I do want to write a love letter…
Dear everyone in Britain, ( even you illegals)
Just so you understand. The poppy is for the boys who never got to grow old. For the boys who were still somebody’s baby, brother, uncle or father. More than 600,000 of them.
It doesn’t matter if you support war, hate your country, think you are a woman (even though you are a man). It doesn’t matter which God you pray to, or if you pray to none at all.
It doesn’t matter who you vote for, what climate narrative you believe, or whether you believe Israel should exist or not!
The poppy isn’t for you!
It’s for those who came before. Those who fought for your right to be weird, annoying or even foreign.
The poppy is how we say thank you. Thank you for giving us time, peace and choice.
And attempting to ban our poppy by declaring it politically divisive isn’t a move towards freedom. It is an act of suppression. Understand that.
The poppy is about love and loss. For you!
So stick your rainbow flags and every other flag where the sun doesn’t shine and just wear your poppy. Those boys did not die as symbols. They died for you!
Did you know that poppies grew across the battlefields where so many fell? As though even the land refused to forget the blood once given to defend it.
So the poppy is for them. For those who came before us and paid in youth, in hope, in breath, in blood, so that we might have the freedom to be arseholes.
So that we might even have the freedom to fight over the ridiculous, the inconsequential and the insane.
Revere it, celebrate it and wear it. The very least you can do is that.
Best
The ordinary people.
@Twickets cannot get another verification code to my phone and you have a ridiculous 2 minute window within which to enter the code. Been trying to list tickets for hours. No customer service numbers, no chat bot.
@Apple just purchased Apple Care. Need a receipt for my company.
The purchase doesn’t show in the AppStore.
The net is stuffed with people with the same problem going back for years.
Been on hold to Support for 12 minutes.
What’s the problem Apple?
Surely not difficult.
@Ryanair so tell what’s you’d call it when someone gets to the end of the booking process is just about to pay and gets a message saying that the booking can’t be completed - try again and when you do it’s 30euros more?
What a con.
@qatarairways very disappointed by the limited luggage allowance in Qatar business class.
2 x 20kg as opposed to most other @traveloneworld airlines at 2 x 32kg.
Am I wrong to suggest that Red Bull’s dominance presents a real threat to the short term future of F1?
I for one have no intention of giving up three hours on a Sunday afternoon to watch @Max33Verstappen romp home in every race.

@CllrLister @MaryRiddell Can you please explain why it’s been a disaster?
I keep on hearing it, but when I ask, not one of you even attempts to explain why.
@ToolstationUK Thanks Suzanne. I’ve spoken to one of your colleagues.
For the record, you not only didn’t deliver on Sunday, you confirmed the order, issued an invoice, then after delivery told me one of the items wasn’t in stock! I now have to head out and buy that item!
#useless
@ToolstationUK clicked on the link you sent re tracking on a recently placed order. The Parcel Force website doesn’t recognise it.
Typical @parcelforce
Why on earth do you use this company?
Morning @iCarhire Your app doesn’t seem to be working on multiple devices. Shows Policy details for a split second and then changes to a white screen. Reloaded app and tried second device - same result.
Morning @easyJet I need to change a booking for my wife and I to fly on different days but to do this I need to split the booking as we now need to fly on different days. Is this possible?
