For 11 years I was a minister.
Then I became a licensed therapist.
I thought my days of serving the Kingdom were over.
What actually happened was the opposite.
AI Therapy
AI can give you an answer.
But it cannot notice the pause before you say, “I’m fine.”
It cannot sit with your pain, challenge your patterns, or genuinely care what happens next.
Use technology as a tool.
Don’t confuse information with relationship.
Anxiety is not the problem.
Your relationship to anxiety is the problem.
The moment it becomes an enemy to defeat, you've entered a war you cannot win —
and the fighting is what keeps it alive.
A child’s anxiety does not always look like worry. At times, it looks like the child everyone thinks is simply being difficult.
As a counselor, I understood that clinically. As a dad, I learned it personally through my own son.
His anxiety could look like anger over something small.
At other moments, it sounded like, “I don’t care.”
It showed up as stomachaches, trouble sleeping, perfectionism, constant questions, avoidance, or needing reassurance again and again.
A child may not know how to say, “I feel overwhelmed, unsafe, or out of control.” So their behavior says it for them.
That does not mean every difficult behavior should be excused. But it does mean we should stay curious about what may be happening underneath it.
Before asking, “How do I stop this behavior?” it may help to ask, “What is my child trying to communicate right now?”
The child who seems the most difficult may actually be the child having the most difficult time.
At Transformed Therapy, we provide counseling for children and families. If you need someone to partner with you in understanding what may be happening beneath your child’s behavior, we would be honored to help.
Notice it. Name it. Transform it.
Therapy isn’t surrender—it’s strategy. It’s choosing to understand your patterns, strengthen your mindset, and move forward with purpose.
Notice it. Name it. Transform it.

You can be right about the issue and still lose the conversation because of how you bring it up.
One of the most common communication problems I see is people confusing being assertive with being accusatory.
Assertiveness says,

“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” — Proverbs 15:1
As a counselor, husband, and dad, I wish I could tell you I always respond with patience and wisdom.
I do not.

Good Saturday morning! ☀️
I hope today gives you a chance to slow down, make a memory, and maybe even find a great little snow cone stand to help beat the heat. 🍧
May the God of heaven richly bless you, your family, and whatever adventures this Saturday holds. Have a wonderful weekend! 🙏☀️🍧
That's what I'll write about here.
Clinical work, plainly explained.
Where faith and psychology actually meet.
What men in particular are carrying alone.
Educational only — this isn't therapy and following me doesn't make me your therapist.
Glad you're here.
For 11 years I was a minister.
Then I became a licensed therapist.
I thought my days of serving the Kingdom were over.
What actually happened was the opposite.
I started Transformed Therapy in 2023 for people stuck between two bad options.
Told by one side that therapy is worldly.
Told by the other that faith is something to work through.
There's a third door. I've spent 18 years walking people through it.
Sometimes depression does not look like sadness.
Sometimes it looks like irritability, numbness, exhaustion, withdrawing, or not caring about things you used to love.
