It took several days to count every ballot in 2020, and it’s very likely we won’t know the outcome tonight either. So please keep a few things in mind as you make your voice heard today:
– Thousands of election workers around the country are working hard today. Respect them. Thank them.
– Don’t share things before checking your sources.
– Let the process run its course. It takes time to count every ballot.
Class last night was wonderful. They had some healthy debates about joy in the classroom and love-centered learning environments. They also said I was lying about my age when it came up, and because flattery works on me, they're definitely all passing 😆😆😆
As much as I facilitate workshops, present at conferences, have speaking engagements, I am realizing how much I missed teaching. There is such a difference between distrubuting knowledge as the "expert" in the presenter role and being on the journey that occurs in the classroom.
I spent time over the weekend nerding out as I read through/listen to responses to the week's learning materials in preparation for yesterday it made me so happy. Like legit grinning 🤓😁
Also submitted a really exciting session with my accountability partners and dear friends

In an effort to bring more awareness and support to what I envision She BLOOMS to be in the next few months, I submitted a proposal to SXSW EDU. I need your support in getting selected. All you have to do is go to the link below and vote "up". Thanks!

I talk a bit about this in my dissertation and wrote a book chapter about how glass cliffs impact the Black women in leadership.
All that to say, sometimes it helps to just name a thing and recognize that it's a phenomenon and not just made up in your mind. 4/4
So we know the term glass ceiling and maybe even the term concrete ceiling, but there's another that isn't used as much, but is very relevant right now and that is glass cliff. 1/4
A lot of the feelings people have been processing the last few days are because they see the current Presidential Race (and political climate) as a glass cliff. It is.
Many of us also know what it is like to be qualified yet only given an opportunity to lead during a crisis 3/4
I don’t want to get consumed by how White women vote against themselves time and time again. I need some 2008 ass optimism right now, it’s the only way to stay sane
If you have taught a course on co-creating classroom communities, what articles, podcasts, or videos do you recommend? I don't want to miss any gems. Thanks! 3/3
I'll be teaching at two universities in the Fall. For one class, I am drafting my weekly announcements for my semester 🤓 Because I was a student in this program, I have a few tips and tricks for my class during particular weeks. I hope my advice is helpful.

For the other course I'm teaching, I'm still working on my syllabus. I was not a student in the class, but I taught a similar course years ago. I want the course to be impactful, so I'm carefully selecting my materials 2/3
