Update: This "Super El Niño" will be perhaps the strongest in 500 to 1000 years, and could legitimately be the most extreme global weather or climate event experienced by humanity since the invention of the printing press. Only more extreme situation is a volcanic winter.
I’ve been saying for a long time, this is going to be a ‘food price’ crisis, then a ‘food shortage’ crisis, then a ‘watching the people you love starve’ crisis.
and for the nth time this is why we need the humanities!!! 🥲 all these numbers (re: employment/economy) mean nothing if we do not look further into how this affects real lives, real people, and the environment

Lumabas ang unang Pulse Asia Senate survey para sa 2028.
Heto naman ang Pulse Asia April 20 to 24, 2025 Senate Election Survey.
Dito, wala po tayo sa listahan sa page 1. Nasa page 2 po. Ranking 16 to 18 at 4 percent ang kulang para makapasok sa top 12 habang plus/minus 2 percent nanan ang margin of error. Ika nga, anybody’s ball game at tight fight ang 12 to 18.
Magtiwala.
Malayo pa ang 2028. Walang bibitiw!!
Tuloy lang.🙏🙏❤️❤️🇵🇭🇵🇭
Even the planet's most resilient desert survivors have started succumbing to extreme heat. Experts say it’s like nothing we’ve ever seen.
For centuries, camels have been celebrated as the ultimate 'ships of the desert,' renowned for their ability to thrive in arid environments too harsh for almost any other livestock. However, an escalating climate crisis in North Africa and the Horn of Africa is pushing these evolutionary marvels past their biological limits.
In regions like Ethiopia's scorching Afar desert, where summer temperatures frequently exceed 50°C (122°F), herders are witnessing unprecedented levels of suffering among their herds. Ali Umer, a veteran local camel herder, recently reported losing eight calves in a single month to the unrelenting heat.
He described a horrifying reality where the animals suffer from blistered feet and watery eyes, and the sand itself becomes so intensely hot that it burns their skin and singes their hair as they rest.
This crisis is not an isolated tragedy; it represents a systemic threat to the ecological and economic stability of communities that rely on camels for transport, milk, and meat. North and East Africa are home to approximately 80% of the world's dromedary camel population, and as traditional grazing areas dry up, pastoralist families are facing catastrophic losses.
Scientists and animal welfare experts warn that prolonged temperatures above the camels' comfort threshold compromise their immune systems, leaving them highly vulnerable to dehydration, disease, and death. With even the hardiest desert species struggling to survive, researchers are urging immediate interventions, such as strategic water distribution and emergency veterinary care, to prevent a total collapse of the region's agricultural backbone.

Ang dami. Parang Pilipinas na lang mismo ang susuko.🤦😭
Tipong sinisira na nga mismo ang sarling mga bundok tas may umaagaw pa ng dagat. 🤣

Bees are responsible for pollinating about one in three bites of the food we eat. They’re far more important to humans than any AI tool or data center. Please protect the bees.
We can’t survive without bees.
We can’t survive without forests.
We can’t survive without healthy oceans.
We can’t survive without clean rivers.
We can’t survive without fertile soil.
And somehow…
we still act as if humans exist separately from nature.
grabe sobrang underpaid na overworked ng mga farmers sa pinas. Sobrang rich ng agri ng pinas, kung mas binibigyang pansin lang din talaga siya hindi lang few crops (pineapples, etc) ang kayang iexport :(
I wonder what kind of subtext is needed when trans marginalization is explicit already? Do we want her to be shown paraded in the streets with people hurling slurs?
Regardless of ideology, this "monologuing directly into the camera about social justice" is so corny. It's the total death of subtext, turning art into pure propaganda. It's bad writing, poorly staged, etc. If you support the message, you should want a better scene to tell it!
Isang panalo para sa katotohanan.
