The Opposition’s allegations over the tax structure for low-alcohol beverages are devoid of facts. It was the previous #LDF goverment that created the category, amended the rules following Bacardi India Ltd.’s application, and completed the process for fixing the tax structure based on the Udayabhanu Commission’s recommendations. The decision was delayed only because of the elections.

Our government fixed the tax after studying practices in other states. If taxation implies collusion, was the 78% levy on premium liquor imposed by the previous government after receiving favours from Johnnie Walker or Chivas Regal?

Whether low-alcohol beverages are sold is a political decision of the UDF; the tax structure applies only if such a decision is taken. Government files will not be taken to party offices. Those who increased the number of bars in Kerala from 28 in 2016 to over 900 today cannot lecture us on liquor policy. When they ask how much we received, it is only natural to ask how much they themselves received.

• इस मामले में 4 रियल स्टेट कंपनियों का जिक्र हुआ है और इनमें बहुमत हिस्सेदारी सीमा यादव और मोहन यादव की है

• मोहन यादव की पत्नी सीमा यादव और पुत्र वैभव से 25 एकड़ जमीन जुड़ी है। वहीं, मोहन यादव की बहन कलावती की भाभी सुनीता से 47 एकड़ जमीन जुड़ी हुई है

• तीन अलग-अलग कंपनियों में परिवार के करीबी रिश्तेदारों की बड़ी हिस्सेदारी है

• मोहन यादव के मंत्री रहने और फिर मुख्यमंत्री बनने के दौरान कई सारे रोड प्रोजेक्ट्स इन जमीनों के आसपास से निकले
