Here at Harvard where majority of my classmates are from the richest families in the world, I want to let everyone here know of the wisdom and stories of my mother and #mothers like her who are migrant workers, domestic workers, and caregivers. #MothersDay https://t.co/tNNWx3TrmZ
The moment when we all erupted with joy after #Jordan’s first #WorldCup goal in yesterday’s match against Austria. From the 2,000-year old Roman Theatre in #Amman, we witnessed history with the broadcast of Jordan’s first ever World Cup match! Go Jordan! يلا يا نشامى! دائماً معاك
Woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic, and political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth. #ApostolicJourney#Cameroon https://t.co/bKteFZ3iWE
The cross is part of the mission. The imperialist occupation of the world is disrupted from within; the violence that until now has been the law is unmasked. The poor, imprisoned, and rejected Messiah descends into the darkness of death, yet in so doing He brings a new creation to light. #HolyThursday
And she is now Harvard Class of 2024 Commencement Speaker! From a Harvard Class of 2023 grad and fellow kababayan, congratulations at mabuhay po kayo, @mariaressa!
Rizal writes in Noli, "In the Philippines, you are not considered to be honorable unless you have been to jail." For me, that is @NobelPrize Laureate @mariaressa. It was a huge honor to meet you again last night with my @RadInstitute Fellow @LysleyTenorio! @rapplerdotcom@WHRB
It is an honor to have worked with these children in my involvement with migrant worker communities in Jordan. We share similar upbringing stories being raised by migrant workers. In light of challenges and stigmas they face, these children carry thru w/ their talents & dreams.
(1/2) The second batch of 14 Filipino non-marital children with their parents are finally coming home. The children departed from Jordan on Friday afternoon of November 24, and will arrive in Manila the following day.

When I bring up the topic of migrant workers in Harvard and devote my life working with them, I think of Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople, an HKS alumna, who also went through those same university spaces and made it her life to serve migrant workers. Rest in Peace to her.
I mourn the passing away of Department of Migrant Workers Secretary @susanople. She has dedicated her life for the #OverseasFilipinoWorkers. While I have not met her, I have known her spirit of service in Jordan with the @DMWPHL that has supported so many migrant workers here.
Many #MigrantDomesticWorkers have been in #Jordan for years to decades & have never been to places that locals & tourists go to because many expect them to only work. I challenge this by driving migrant workers all over Jordan during weekends where they can have moments of joy.
Research as a form of public service & community involvement. A huge honor to be working with & for the #OverseasFilipinoWorkers of #Jordan/#MENA. The @DMWPHL Migrant Workers Office in Amman has been a space where we got to do various programs for OFWs. @DFAPHL@susanople
Jordan, an @ilo member state, has yet to ratify ILO Convention 189 that would commit it to the "protection of the human rights of all domestic workers." Right now with #Kafala in Jordan, migrant domestic workers have to get "released" by their employers. https://t.co/Artkp0rcmF
12 years ago, my mother and I immigrated to the US. Many have treated us poorly because people look down on servants and those who are not white and wealthy. But today, here we are having graduated from Harvard. This is for you, Ma, and for all #MigrantWorkers! #Harvard2023
“He has brought down the powerful from their thrones & lifted up the lowly; he has filled the hungry with good things...” We chose to read The Magnificat for the Christian tradition in #Harvard2023 Baccalaureate. This was our subtle message/reminder for this institution of power.
