My heart is heavy after seeing the footage of how Celena Morrison and her spouse were treated by a law enforcement officer. I condemn the excessive use of force by this officer, the blatant disregard for Celena's & her spouse's wellbeing, & the apparent discrimination they faced.

The condolences of the Williams Family to Mr. Michael Decker, the Chief Clerk of the Council of the City of Philadelphia. Mr. Decker served tirelessly for years in the Chief Clerk's office, and was a trusted and important figure of our government. May he rest in peace.

Philadelphia, I'm honored to be the Chair of the Philadelphia Youth Commission. We know that the work of making Philadelphia the safest, cleanest, greenest, big city in the nation, with economic opportunity for all—is not an easy undertaking.

But, we're moving at rocket speed to achieve that goal. The progress we make in Philadelphia should start and end with, and does include, the youth, and I'm excited to be working with the heads of our government to deliver dynamic leadership for the city.

Jeanette is a PHL Powerhouse, and I was honored to stand alongside my fellow Commissioners to bring this resolution to @PHLCouncil w/ the help of the amazing @CMThomasPHL. @PHLYouth is stronger than ever thanks to Jeanette, and we're so honored to have a leader like her.

Philadelphia Youth Commission is a collective of well minded students who provide City Council

One of those youth commissioners came to me with a suggestion: honor the Executive Director of the Philadelphia Youth Commission (@phlyouth) Jeanette Bavwidinsi.
