@BlueDartCares international flght in 2 days and passport is on hold with Bluedart due to SPACE CONSTRAINT for last 6hrs. Will you refund tickets if flight missed? How can you not have separate operations for v imp/ urgent items like passports? Who is going to be fired today?
Today was another very rough day for me. I paid the taxes on my non-professorial sources of income and realized that I'm left with a lot less. It does not matter how hard I work, how much I sacrifice, how much I produce, how many books I author, how many talks I deliver, the Quebec & Canadian governments "own" much of my labor, my creativity, my dignity, my efforts (even though much of my sources of income are generated from outside of Canada). It is soul-crushing. I would need to work for another 10 years to hopefully save the amount of taxes that magically disappeared from my bank today. I'll leave it at that for this evening.

@cpgimmigration@KanwarSierah New student intake for upcoming batches will almost be next to nil > lesser global money to ca > lesser cheap labor > lesser rental demand > lesser funding to colleges > lesser demand for certain business > recession knocking your doors louder

You Good Canada? 🔥
Compared to a year ago, the CPI for rent spiked by 8.2% in October, up from 7.3% in September, and the biggest year-over-year spike since April 1983.
Rent isn’t a discretionary item that people can easily choose to forego if it gets too expensive. It’s an essential, and it is on a crazy-scary spike, not matched by wages or anything else. Rent inflation has become a relentlessly worsening problem for Canadians.
Canada's exploitation of international students at the hands of for-profit education institutions and their recruiters is shameful.
It's unfair to them and it's unfair to Canadian renters.

International students just went from Heroes of our post COVID economy (remember how lifting working restrictions was so important?) to villains responsible for the (chronic) housing issues plaguing some parts of the country.
Public policy idea: require colleges to demonstrate where new students will live, as a condition of expanding their enrolment. If there is an existing housing shortage where they are located, they must build new residences before expanding enrolment. Colleges need to take responsibility.
🔎An unfortunate hike in financing inquiries from seniors. By design, reverse mortgages will only draw the most $ to the eldest (55% LTV). Depleted savings, going back to work, pension & OAS ≠ living expenses, ashamed to ask children for help (if an option) & retirement fear? ✔️
