Walemavu hawapaswi kuendelea kulemazwa na mifumo. Let us move beyond promises and ensure genuine inclusion, equal opportunities, and respect for merit and ability. ♿🇰🇪 #DisabilityInclusion#EqualOpportunity#PWDRights
We are told that Persons with Disabilities are supported, yet many continue to face exclusion and unfair treatment. Some have worked twice as hard to reach positions of influence and success, only to be pushed aside by the very systems meant to protect them.
Every child deserves not only a quality education, but also a safe environment in which to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams.
🇰🇪 Our children are our future. Their safety must never be an afterthought.
As we mourn the young lives lost and pray for those recovering, perhaps this is also an opportunity to strengthen safety standards, emergency preparedness, counseling, and accountability across all learning institutions.
Kenya has challenges, yes.
But we also have talent, innovation, resilience, and potential.
The future can still be brighter if we build wisely together. 🇰🇪✨
Earlier today, I had the honor of officiating the graduation ceremony of National Defence College (NDC) Course 28–2025/26, marking the successful completion of a rigorous and transformative programme by 71 distinguished participants drawn from the Kenya Defence Forces, Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government, and 19 Allied Countries from across Africa and beyond.
The National Defence College continues to play a vital role in preparing leaders capable of navigating an increasingly complex and dynamic security environment.
I commend the College leadership, faculty, and staff for their steadfast commitment to professional military education, strategic thought, and policy-oriented research, which continue to strengthen national resilience and regional security cooperation.
I was particularly encouraged by the diversity represented within this year’s cohort, including the growing participation of women in strategic leadership spaces.
The exchange of perspectives and experiences among participants from different institutions and nations underscores the importance of collaboration, mutual understanding, and collective action in addressing emerging regional and global security challenges.
The Ministry of Defence remains firmly committed to strengthening the National Defence College under the framework of the National Defence University-Kenya.
Plans to expand student intake, onboard additional partner nations, introduce a PhD programme, and advance modern learning infrastructure will further position the College as a premier centre of strategic leadership and professional military education within the region and beyond.
Present at the graduation ceremony were the Chief of the Defence Forces, General Charles Kahariri; Defence Principal Secretary Dr. Patrick Mariru; Vice Chief of the Defence Forces, Lieutenant General John Omenda; Vice Chancellor, NDU-K, Lieutenant General David Tarus; Service Commanders; Commandant NDC, Lieutenant General Juma Mwinyikai; Deputy Commandant (Civil), Amb. Simon Nabukwesi; among other Senior Military and Government Officials.

Presidential security is bigger than politics — it protects the stability, confidence, and image of the nation itself.
Accessibility is admirable, but security must always stay several steps ahead. A small breach ignored today can easily become a bigger national concern tomorrow
As much as many Kenyans appreciate a leader who remains accessible to wananchi, recent security lapses around President @WilliamsRuto should concern all of us regardless of political affiliation.
Positive to see action being taken to ease fuel costs. The real win will be long-term solutions that protect wananchi, businesses, and transport sectors while keeping Kenya’s economy stable and growing. 🇰🇪
What is painful is that the biggest barriers often come from the very people and systems that should be supporting and empowering them. Opportunities meant to create inclusion are instead being blocked, sidelined, or unfairly taken away.
Disability does not mean inability. Kenya can only grow when we create a society where everyone gets a fair chance to compete, contribute, and succeed with dignity. 🇰🇪
Very unfortunate to witness lives lost, injuries, looting & property destroyed during fuel protests. The concerns on cost of living are real & deserve urgent attention, violence only hurts further. Dialogue, practical solutions, & protection of life must always come first. 🇰🇪
“Once someone starts with ‘with all due respect,’ prepare yourself… the respect has already left the room. What follows is usually the unfiltered version.” 😅
As Kenya grows economically, it may be timely to consider long-term measures to ease the cost of living while sustaining development 🇰🇪
Key areas: • Gradual review of fuel levies
• Efficient & accountable public spending
• Affordable public transport
• Boosting local production & manufacturing
• Support for clean energy & innovation
• Expanding youth & business opportunities
Small, strategic reforms today can ease pressure on transport, food & daily costs.
