@KeithMcilwain I’ve seen bits and pieces of the others (I’ll have to check them out), but Young Frankenstein is one of the funniest movies of all time.
@markdtooley@MethodistView This issue has been largely under the radar and has now been brought to the fore . It’s been interesting to see evangelicals, Catholics and other conservatives weigh in. There’s significant disagreement.
@megbasham That’s a pretty good argument. But I think there’s an argument for giving people the maximum time to repent. Also, I don’t think the NT explicitly prescribes CP.
@LilaGraceRose I’m a Christian and after much thought, I am anti-CP, but understand why some are pro. While aghast at the thought, I understand that the military has its own justice system separate from civilian, which includes method of execution.
@LilaGraceRose I don’t see the OT as prescriptive of CP, at least not for Christians, but can understand it as an argument for. I don’t see the NT being clearly for or against. Thus the lack of consensus.
@DrFrankTurek It always seemed like a kind of bait and switch technique. “Come on in. Christianity is really easy.” Then later: “Actually, Christianity is quite hard.”
@KeithMcilwain The only fear I’ve noticed from him is a SLIGHT fear of God, as in “I’m not sure I’ll get into heaven”. His biggest character flaw imho is an apparent inability to apologize, which WILL keep him out of heaven.
@KeithMcilwain Observing him on the world stage for a decade, it’s safe to say Trump’s not acting out of fear. He of course won’t sue without grounds. He’s hitting back. Surprise surprise.
@KeithMcilwain A good snarky comeback but …
A good conversation starter for sure.
Worshipers of course have spiritual needs. And, what expectations do they come with? In what ways might their expectations be misguided?
Part of the answer, I think, is teaching. What IS worship? Why worship?
