Just relaxing at home today, had a good time yesterday visiting my sweet friend Lia, I haven't had much of an appetite lately, witch is a good thing I lost 10 pounds in the last week, but l'm staying hydrated like my doctor told me.

I'm about to have my fourth child, who will not be able to be immunized against measles until a year after she's born, and I now have to face a concern for my child's safety that we did not have to face a generation ago because anti-vaccine cranks and conspiracy theorists have willed a disease we had all but erradicated back into existence.

I am about as much of a liberty-first individual as you can find, but freedom and liberty are supposed to be accompanied by duty and responsibility in a healthy free society. We are failing in both regards. We are allowing panic and fear to overwhelm reason and allowing tremendous, avoidable harm to spread through our society.

These irrational fears and irresponsible choices are impacting everyone, and the sheer pride evident in embracing backward and narrow-minded thinking is matched only by the selfishness of those who see themselves as islands of license rather than members of a community who can and should be exercising their liberty with an eye toward the common good.
