I ask you to join me in prayer every day for Jerusalem and the nation of Israel.
“Lord, as You have delivered Your people time and again in the past, I pray that You would again arise for the defense of Jerusalem. Circle over the Holy City and hide her under the shadow of Your wings. Preserve and protect Israel today, Lord, God.”
As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it. Isaiah 31:5

Leaving the Past Behind
By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son.
—Hebrews 11:17 NKJV
When God told Abraham to leave his homeland, his relatives, and the idolatrous culture behind, He also gave him wonderful “I will” promises of how he would be rewarded for obeying:
I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you (Genesis 12:2-3 NIV).
Take a few minutes to quiet your heart before the Lord and ask Him to show you His next steps for your life. What is He calling you to do? If you are obedient, as Abraham was, are there promises He has made for the outcome?
When God gives you instructions, He often gives you promises as well. Trust Him to bring more of His favor into your life! He says, “I will!”

“Lord of Glory, as evil hearts devise wickedness against Your Holy City, I pray that You will cause their knees to bow before You. In the place where You have set Your Name, bring peace around Your throne. Even so come and bring peace to this earth.”
At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart. Jeremiah 3:17

“God of battles, You selected Jerusalem from all the cities of the earth as the place to establish Your name forever. You chose Your servant David as the leader and defender of Your people. Keep Your covenant with him today and arise to defend Jerusalem from destruction.”
But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel. 2 Chronicles 6:6

A Blessed Life
Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works. (James 2:26 NLT)
The Bible is filled with promises that God desires to shower favor and blessings upon His children. Yet people throughout history have debated the keys to experiencing “a blessed life.”
Jesus spoke to this issue after eating the Passover meal with His disciples and washing their feet. Encouraging them to follow His example of humility and servanthood, He made a stunning promise: “If you understand what I’m telling you, act like it—and live a blessed life” (John 13:17 MSG).
In essence, Jesus said, “I WANT you to live ‘a blessed life,’ and here’s HOW you can.” Other translations illustrate that it’s not enough just to know the principles of living in God’s favor. We also must put them into practice: “If you know these things, blessed are you if you DO them” (NKJV).
Take a few minutes to review the principles in John 13. Then start putting them into practice and get ready to be blessed!
I ask you to join me in prayer every day for Jerusalem and the nation of Israel.
“Lord God of Israel, Elohim, El Shaddai…we beseech you to keep watch over this Holy City. You have named it the Holy City of God where soon it shall be the place where Messiah Yeshua, Jesus Christ will establish His earthly throne and rule and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords over all the earth. Preserve and protect Your Chosen People who dwell there. Let those who curse Your name be brought down. Raise up all who faithfully call upon Your name for deliverance, health and prosperity, in Jesus’ Name.”
On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves… I will keep a watchful eye over the house of Judah… Then the leaders of Judah will say in their hearts, ‘The people of Jerusalem are strong, because the Lord Almighty is their God.’ Zechariah 12:3-5 (NIV)

“Let there be an out-flowing of provisioning to anyone who comes there for refuge and aid. Let these provisions be supernaturally multiplied to them, just as Jesus multiplied the five loaves and two fishes to the multitude in need, in Jesus’ Name. I pray that You will comfort, heal, and provide for the poor of Israel and especially the elderly survivors of the Holocaust.”
Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. Psalm 82:3-4

Plan Ahead
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. —Ephesians 2:8 ESV
Reverend Greg Pratt made a list titled “All I Will Ever Need to Know I Learned from Noah.” One of his points was this: “Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.”
This principle of planning ahead is found throughout the Bible. Solomon writes:
Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise! Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work, they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter (Proverbs 6:6-8 NLT).
It’s important that you be wise enough to work hard and plan ahead. Genuine faith is followed by good works. When it’s harvest time in your life, you should have the foresight to gather food for the winter season.
Take a few minutes today to pause and ask God to help you prepare for the days ahead. Listen for His instructions, be willing to work hard, and do what He says!
I ask you to join me in prayer every day for Jerusalem and the nation of Israel.
This prayer was written by the Chief Rabbi of the state of Israel in 1948 and is prayed in synagogues the world over each Shabbat.
“Our Heavenly Father, Israel’s Rock and Redeemer, Bless the State of Israel, the first flowering of our redemption. Shield it under the wings of Your loving kindness and spread over it the Tabernacle of Your peace. Send Your light and truth to its leaders, ministers and officials, and direct them with good counsel before You.”
“Strengthen the hands of the defenders of our Holy land; Grant them deliverance, our God, and crown them with the crown of victory. Grant peace in the land and everlasting joy to its inhabitants.”
“As for our brother, the whole house of Israel, Remember them in all the lands of their dispersion, and swiftly lead them upright to Zion your city, and Jerusalem Your dwelling place, as is written in the Torah of Moses Your servant: ‘Even if you are scattered to the furthermost land under the heavens, From there the Lord your God will gather you and take you back. The Lord your God will bring you to the land Your ancestors possessed and you will possess it; And He will make you more prosperous and numerous than your ancestors’” (Deuteronomy 30:4-5).
“Unite our hearts to love and revere Your name and observe all the words of Your Torah, and swiftly send us Your righteous anointed one of the house of David; To redeem those who long for Your salvation.”
“Appear in Your glorious majesty over all the dwellers on earth, and let all who breathe declare: The Lord God of Israel is King And His kingship has dominion over all. Amen, Selah.”

I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. I Corinthians 14:15

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise Ye the Lord. Psalm 149:6-9
