“If you’re not a feminist, it’s only because of the decades of women who were feminists before you.”
-Barbara L. McQuade, legal analyst for @NBCNews & @MSNBC and former U. S. Attorney Eastern Michigan District (appointed by @BarackObama)
🚨 BREAKING:
U.S. world-famous author Stephen King:
“Trump is a tumor in America’s veins. A tyrant who does not hesitate to set a country on fire for his narcissistic ego. No horror story I’ve written could be as terrifying as this man.”
BRAVERY 💖 In 1991, attorney Anita Hill testified that Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas had sexually harassed her when he was chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and she worked there as an adviser to him.
Hill's testimony was unlike anything anyone had ever heard before at a Supreme Court nominee hearing: a committee of 14 white men, chaired by then Sen. Joe Biden, grilled her in a televised live hearing.
The Senate ultimately confirmed
Thomas' nomination in a 52-48 vote (then, the smallest margin in Supreme Court history), and Hill went home to a new life — condemned by many and facing death threats.
Nevertheless, she has no regrets about stepping forward.
"I had important information about an individual who was picked to sit for a lifetime appointment on our country's highest court," she says. "It was not just a professional duty as a lawyer, but 1 believed it was my ethical responsibility to come forward in the best way and the most effective way that I could - and that's what I did."
At the time of the hearing, Hill felt isolated. But afterward she was flooded with stories of other people who had similar experiences.
"Hearing from them, just realizing that I was not alone in facing this kind of scrutiny and actual hostility, was affirming," she says.
The testimony brought sexual harassment to the forefront of national conversation, leading many organizations to re-examine their policies, according to the American Civil Liberties Union.
Clarence Thomas still sits on that court.
BREAKING: NICE GOING, BOZO! Washington D.C. now has the worst air quality of any city ON THE PLANET thanks to the pollution from Trump’s ridiculous 860,000-firework show and residents have been told to stay inside! Unbelievable…
Damn, America was embarrassed out there tonight, 4-1.
Couldn't this jackass stop inserting himself into every fucking thing?
Everything trump touches dies.
@krassenstein The Kentucky governor is a democrat, and he gets to appoint McConnell’s replacement if he dies. Which is the whole reason why no one is admitting that he did die.
BREAKING: There are now multiple reports from a variety of sources on the right and the left, claiming that Mitch McConnell has been unconscious for weeks and is likely braindead..
The fact that family members and Republican insiders are not pushing back on these reports tell you everything you need to know.
Time for a Special Election Kentucky.
Donald Trump doesn’t fix shit, he destroys.
He destroys everything he touches.
The East wing.
The Oval.
The Rose Garden.
The South Lawn.
The Reflecting Pool.
The Kennedy Center.
The World Cup.
Our 250th birthday.
Democracy itself.
He’s incapable of building, so he bulldozes.
For the slow of learning:
He is literally saying, OUT LOUD, how he cheats every single time. Fair if I win, rigged if I lose.
Same shit he tried in 2020, we can't keep letting this cheater get away with it.
Damn, Iran did not waste a second, they had this diss track ready to go, with the exact final score, after trump's cheating ways jinxed and screwed our US Men's Soccer Team.
He's turned the whole world against us.
The song is 🔥, tho.
Hey Republicans: We found that VOTER FRAUD y'all have been obsessing over.
But it wasn't an undocumented immigrant.
It was former Texas AG Ken Paxton.
So, you'll be holding him accountable, right?🙄
