He’s hard as nails. If he takes some of the crash & Bash away from Harley and allows him to focus more on exploding out of the contest.. I don’t hate it.
He’s also ridiculously driven. Free hit in my mind whilst we still have the list spots

@JoshJenkins24 He’s one I hope WC strongly look at. Think he would complement Reid and Duursma pretty well.

Worst case he makes our WAFL side stronger, so win/win. I don’t think anyone can fault his work ethic.

@atsillypoint The last few innings he’s looked like the player he is at Shield, which is, for lack of better term, unbothered. Doesn’t feel pressured to take game on, just waits for opportunities

I’d be reasonably happy with this as an Eagle fan although I’d hope we would address a Key back in the first 25.

But a fit Lecras alongside a fit Sam Allen from 2025 in a few years would be double trouble off a HFF

@wcorigins I remember buddy kicking 2.9 one day and the commentary being it was great he had 11 shots on goal and focusing on the good rather than the negatives.

Not comparing of course, but no good comes on over focusing on the negative in my view. He’s doing a lot right - it will turn!

But I don’t think all is lost. Next week is a new game. He’s such a confidence player and it’s clear it’s a mental game now.
I’d much rather this problem than him getting one shot on goal a week

Most players are running around with injuries this time of year- I’m sure clubs would just pull out the relevant medical data

Having said that, I feel continuity in team selection is pretty important going into finals

Last year, we had to wait for the bombers to remind us that the gap between dire and mediocre isn’t that big.

This year we are saying things like “composure in the forward half the difference in the end”, against sides in the top 4. The tide is turning

@TheNestWCE I think we’ve been giving him some tough love this year and developing him properly now he’s getting continuity in games and hopefully confidence in body. It would have been a shame if that development saw him develop into a top liner elsewhere.

@Readingthegame2 I probably look at it slightly differently if we are giving him clear areas of focus. He’s not a locked in starter yet- any continuity in his preferred position is good.

As we get better players will start missing out. It’s nice to have selection pressure for a change.
