@DrNeilStone The problem is the system is time served based rather than competency based. Some might need longer, some might have extended experience prior to starting ST training and need less. Some LTFT might achieve competence if focused enough but require years of box ticking to CCT
@drcolinm But some of the changes proposed are eye popping.
Take this one.
Yes, this really is the Director of Education & Standards of the GMC no less seriously suggesting we can bin much of the content of UK medical schools because doctors can alway use their smartphones. 7/n
#BeKind has been weaponised. It is the most subtle yet effective type of gaslighting toxicity.
It stops people speaking up, and makes perpetrators into victims and whistleblowers into perpetrators.
#BeKind doesn't work when there are lives on the line.
Consultants who think they have good pay either
1) bought a house > 10 years ago and levelled up or
2) benefit from a middle/ high income earning partner or
3) have a CEA award or
4) do private practice
Have a reality check of which privilege you have.

Re Junior Doctor strikes, the 'if you don't like it, get another job / go elsewhere' crowd need to rapidly learn that doctors are doing exactly that. It's (partly) why you struggle to see a GP, or it takes months to see a specialist. We simply do not have enough of them.
We are very proud to be a fully independent prep school and we ensure that every year 8 leaver moves on to the most suited senior school for them (many with scholarships in a wide variety of areas).
This image shows the range of prestigious schools for just this year alone!
@artistc1708 @OxfordshireCC @JeremyClarkson I stand corrected however it is @OxfordshireCC that are posting pictures of a mess that their colleagues could fix in an instant. Dragging themselves into the debate quite unnecessarily. If it’s not their jurisdiction why post at all 🤷♀️
