please teach your daughters that having a voice is more important than being nice. having a backbone is more important than being palatable. having standards is more important than being liked. and having self respect is more important than being chosen.
Being in your 30s is realizing you can actually just... leave. The relationship. The friendship. The room. The situation. You don’t need to stay anywhere that doesn’t feel good anymore.
You have to be strong enough to discern what you want to feel & experience over what someone is presenting. That discernment is a muscle. And like any muscle, it doesn't develop in comfort. It develops in exactly the moments that are asking more of you than you thought you had.
A lot of them gave up their childhood while making our childhood so memorable and it’s crazy how unhappy and unprotected some of them were while doing so.
Nobody talks about the personality shift in your 30s where you no longer want to be impressive, you just want to be rested, regulated, and completely unavailable to anything that drains you
