Senegal has shut down the internet. The government has indicated that it is bc it has detected threatening and subversive messages on social media (on the heels of arrest of opposition leader). Flights coming and coming have been limited.
Had a wonderful visit at the World Agroforestry Center yesterday. Thanks to @CIFOR_ICRAF for fascinating conversation on a wide range of subjects, including community forestry, land and soil restoration in Africa, and security.
My annual reviews piece on supply chains and governance is finally out! In it, I explore drivers of local social and environmental outcomes. It was incredibly humbling to write this review, and I'm thankful for all the brilliant scholarship out there.

@wordschmidt27@Prof_BearB Bear was someone who, in spite of the fact that I did not know him well, seemed ever present in my intellectual and professional life as a political scientist. He also seemed like a hell of a good person in my few interactions with him. And I am so very sorry for your loss.
As we process the tragic loss of Bear, we want to offer support to his wife, Kristen, and his daughter, Molly. Our faculty have set up a fund to support Molly's future studies.
