Night shifts done. Hectic one last night with lots of poorly patients requiring CPAP and high volumes of oxygen. Now time for Christmas with the family 🎁#nqn#punc18#respisbest
A very fulfilling day, my patient finally received a bed at a mental health unit. Hoping this will be a more therapeutic environment for them compared to the busy ward. One step closer to them getting the care they desperately need #nqn#punc18#MentalHealthMatters
@EmmaPUNC21 When I was a student I got diagnosed with CFS/ME. During the months I was really poorly I had my hours reduced on placement. However I did have to make up the hours later on. I also was able to get extensions on my academic work xx
@EmmaPUNC21 Oh bless you, literally the same as me then! It is tough at the beginning because you have to learn what works best for you! Don’t be afraid to take time off if you feel poorly, try not to stress about the hours! I’m alright still have my bad days but it’s just my life now❤️
@EmmaPUNC21 I got diagnosed in my second year of uni! Luckily when I was really poorly my placement was super understanding I had reduced hours and set shifts. On my days off I would (and still do) spend the majority of my time in bed or on the sofa. Feel free to message me, you got this💕
@MrJordanKelly1@UHD_NHS@NQPUNCs@RCNNRN@PUNC14 Also, in time other staff members will get heart shaped badges too. Orange ones for staff that have been qualified for over a year and then blue for those more experienced! So it’s almost like a traffic light system 🚦
@UHD_NHS has introduced green heart badges as a sign that a nurse/AHP is newly qualified to promote awareness and support. Interested to hear if other trusts have a way of identifying those that are newly qualified? #nqn#punc18@NQPUNCs@RCNNRN@punc14
@MrJordanKelly1@UHD_NHS@NQPUNCs@RCNNRN@PUNC14 From my experience so far not at all! This badge just reminds other staff that #nqns may need extra support during the shift. Also during critical situations the badge allows team members to be aware that the staff member won’t be able to do everything or may need help!
Had my first BiPAP patient the other day! When I was a student I dreaded the thought of having a patient on NIV, but it was actually okay! Small steps 🏆 #punc18#nqn#bipap
