The legal profession has a lot of ethical dilemmas among its most vaunted professionals: Tom Girardi and mass tort settlements; in USC sex assault cases, class action plaintiff lawyers and huge shortchanging of the class; in Roundup, a settlement that literally kills people.

USC's class action lawyers brag about their low per-plaintiff payout in one of the worst sex abuse scandals in the country. Revolting.

Meanwhile, USC's lead defense attorney for its class action boasts on his law firm bio that he and colleagues resolved “the class actions at a small fraction of the per-plaintiff amount that other institutions have paid in similar cases.”
