The Minecraft app is such a good example of what’s possible on Root. None of this is possible on other communication platforms and this is just 1 of our apps! Just imagine all of the possibilities when we open the App Store to all developers. I’m so excited!!
Hello Rootcrafters! Command Block has spawned!
Now you can track your Minecraft servers, chat with players, and explore the map!
Here's what's available:
-Server Information
-Player Online/Offline viewer
-Analytics on the Minecraft server (Track player's activity and stats)
-Chat (See what happening in the in-game chat without Minecraft open)
-The Map! (Powered by our RootCompanion plugin with SquareMap)
(Note: Certain features are admins-only like add/remove player items)
We hope Minecraft fans can jump in and test the Command Block app with friends!
We'd love your comments, suggestions and feedback!
and as always... thank you all for your support!
New Root apps just launched…
▪ Raid planner for the homies to organize raids on WoW, FF14, or whatever your party is grinding this week
▪ Task tracker so everyone knows who’s doing what
▪ Sticker wall for celebrating wins, dropping reactions and spamming stickers when the boss is defeated
…stay tuned as more apps are on the way!
We’ve been building the Apps infrastructure for literally years. Having deeply integrated apps to do anything your community needs is a game changer. After you see it, other platforms feel prehistoric.
You want community analytics? Say less, we built it
Root apps let any developer extend the platform with full interactive interfaces
dashboards, tools, games, whatever your community needs
available in your communities soon™️
BIG Root updates:
- Community invite links
- Mobile push notifications
- Video uploads
- Discord template imports
- New role controls
- Lots of polish and reliability fixes, too.
Zoom in. Zoom out. Smooth, simple, and stacked with the features you actually care about.
Root’s a native app.. not a browser in a trench coat.
That means faster performance, less bloat, and more headroom for what’s next.
Someone recently asked how @rootappofficial is going to compete with Discord and Guilded.
Sharing some of my thoughts, more to come soon.

Building a next-gen communication platform is something I’ve been thinking about for many years. It’s been a long journey to get here, but I’m so happy to finally talk about @rootappofficial

We’re hiring!!
Platforms such as Slack and Discord focus on raw communication (i.e., voice and text chatting), however, this is not enough for modern online communities. Today, it's all about collaboration. A Minecraft community organizes in-game events, a drawing community sketches ideas on shared canvases, a poker community runs weekly tournaments, an indie game studio collaborates on a shared backlog with their early adopters, a streamer sells their merch, and so on.
The next generation communication platform is not just voice and text; it includes voice, text, and collaboration. There are so many exciting challenges in this space, and we're looking to hire people who share the same passion as we do.
We're hiring React engineers to help build out our App platform, and we're also looking for a talented WebRTC expert. If you know any awesome engineers, please send them my way! Plus, if we hire anyone you recommend, we'll give you a finder's fee :) PM me for more info.

@immad Social communication platform with powerful extensibility support (think Discord + Roblox)
Every community has different needs for success.. for ex:
- Gamers: tournament system
- Designers: sketch ideas collaboratively
- Streamers: support tickets to manage popular communities
