@DrWilliamMD Our local library still hands them out. It's 4/household per day. Not sure if this is all libraries, but I just got some from mine yesterday.
@StrikeDebt@JoeBiden Or fix PSLF. I've been a teacher since 2008, and because of who signed my paycheck for 6 years (partially doing Title 1), I have 72 payments that don't count.
@devynadavis@RyanGaliotto@maddiedepascale None of it makes sense. I think that you had to apply before 10/22 under a special waiver for standard payments to count. I lost 6 years due because I taught at a qualifying school but was contracted by a 3rd party. But it's ok for DOE to contract with a 3rd party for PSLF?
PSLF help! MOHELA said I had 119 payments, then took away 6 years to bring it back to 48. Said I worked for a for-profit (I was contracted by a 3rd party to a qualifying school, but 3rd party signed check). I was a tutor and Title 1 provider. Any way to get these years to count?
@brookebikesmke Advice for getting employers to be counted like your county employment? I was employed by a 3rd party edu provider and placed in a school for 6 years (that does count). 3rd party for-profit and despite getting no benefits or maternity leave, I'm out 72 payments as a teacher.
@heymrsbond The only item I requested for my classroom was a new filter for my purifier. Shockingly, I didn't get it. Between COVID, germs, allergens, and wildfire smoke, it should be a no-brainer.
@earlsofrisk And why wouldn't it be filmed at the end of season and used for the new season?! Lots of wasted costs doing it the following season at same location I would think.
Well, 6 years of teaching apparently ineligible for PSLF since I was a contracted employee. Same job didn't even provide me benefits or maternity leaves. #endstudentdebt#teachertwitter#loanforgiveness
@JoyfulHeartEO And PSLF...Been paying for 10+ years for teaching but they are still going over my paperwork. My bigger issue is having to pay to student teach. Paying 12 credits to work a full-time job? Insane. And other professions make more in their internship than I currently make teaching.
@ellenlynch Um, no thanks! A family I know all got noro this year and we're stuck in their room the whole time and their kid had to be hospitalized for dehydration. I live to travel and see places, but not like this!
@ellenlynch We typically "build in" a few snow days, but haven't even had an actual snow day in years. Having them would help with burn out too, but it just hasn't been cold or snowy enough! There are a few Cleveland public schools that go year-round, but that's about it around here.
