It will be absolutely essential that the State of Mississippi develops a uniform and equitable plan for distributing CARE Act funds to municipalities. Cities all across the state are hurting and the funds from Washington are being sent to Jackson for distribution to the cities.

Because of the way the CARES Act funds are being distributed, and because there has been no plan for distribution developed by the State of Mississippi, there is no guarantee that each city receives the funds voted on in Congress and which were allocated to each State.
