they’re obsessed over what jy does because he represents a possibility they’ve spent months trying to convince everyone doesn’t exist. you can have a distinct personality and still thrive in a group. you can be a dependable older brother figure to your members. you can nurture and pursue your own interests while continuing to work hard for the group. you can even take on independent opportunities that allow you to grow while forging new connections and creating opportunities for everyone around you.

sometimes that side speak as though leaving was the only way to have any of these things. maybe that was the only path they could imagine for him, but jy shows that there are other ways to exist as an individual within a group. in his world, you don’t always have to choose one or the other. there’s room to be yourself and still belong.
