@MrKyleBrown4@aewallace8Chats Amen. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve talked to my assistant about this class and the self awareness I’ve gained. ❤️
@MsGlennTeaches@aewallace8Chats Absolutely! I think this is similar to where Kyle and I were in class. Where is the boundary for friendships and openness? That’s hard for me because I like to be friendly, open and personable. I find it hard to draw a line.
@aewallace8Chats Q6: seeing an alignment between my vision and beliefs and that of my surroundings. I can’t advocate alone/ move mountains alone. I need to see arms linked together #edld517chat
@aewallace8Chats A5: I often think I’m overstepping and I’m going to stop apologizing for speaking up or helping out as long as my motivations are positive and not self serving.
@Jones_Matt8@aewallace8Chats This makes me so happy… so i know I’m not alone. We’ve had to have some blunt convos too about the way we treat each other in my room as well
@aewallace8Chats A4: this whole year. I’ve been self-aware and I’ve shared that with others despite feeling like it might alter their view of me.luckily, it did not. I earned their support and their praise and words of comfort. And to think… I usually would stuff it down. #edld517chat
@klpowell10@aewallace8Chats I had a similar thought! Sometimes I feel like “I’m just a teacher (and PreK at that!), no one takes my thoughts seriously.”
@aewallace8Chats Speaking the truth. Saying it kindly and professionally but not beating around the bush. I get exhausted hearing long-winded conversations that barely touch on the heart of the matter because we are all in fear of crossing some invisible line or boundary #edld517chat
@MrMarkPages@aewallace8Chats Me too!!! I totally relate. I think I often say to myself… “they would totally understand if they could conceive of how busy I am.”
@aewallace8Chats A2 I don’t steamroll, but I wish I could stop hesitating about putting the needs of my family before work. It’s so hard for my to commit to time off work when my child is sick or taking a day to attend a field trip or AEW for my kid. I worry I will regret it later #edld517edchat
@nfilewicz95@aewallace8Chats This seems to be the common answer but I love how well you worded it. Negative feedback although it can be helpful and constructive if typically like cleaning an open wound to a working relationship
@aewallace8Chats A1 FEAR OF CONFLICT. I hate the thought of not being liked, accepted or respected. I’m super sensitive and rarely have a thick skin (unless I’ve written you off before you can write me off) #edld517chat
@MsGlennTeaches@aewallace8Chats Oh I love this! I had an extremely emotional day trying to restrain myself from speaking my mind in professional settings so this hit home.
@aewallace8Chats A1- I think I need to give myself permission to stop trying to do it all. To allow myself to focus without feeling pride in myself ONLY when I’m trying to be Supermom/wife/teacher by multitasking.
@MrKyleBrown4@aewallace8Chats I said it to my husband tonight when he had doubts about himself. He rolled his eyes… but give me time. 😂 I’ll have him standing his truth before long 🤪
