WES read The Lemonade War during our One Book, One School @readtothem event this year. We then had our own lemonade war to see which grade level could raise the most $ for @AlexsLemonade Stand! Yesterday, we got to present Christie Fischer from ALSP with a check for $2556.83! 🍋
It’s been a whole week since our One Book, One School kickoff assembly, and I still have kids coming up to me saying they would buy my lemonade. Getting kids excited about and engaged in reading is my favorite! ❤️ @readtothem#TheLemonadeWar#WESreads
30 years after falling in ❤️ with the book, clutching my original, tattered copy, we saw the spot-on portrayal of being a young girl brought to life on the big screen. We shed some tears for the 11 year old girls we were and the moms of daughters we are now. Thank you, @judyblume
That’s a wrap on Book Madness 2023! The kiddos LOVED the books and I loved hearing them cheer when I announced the winner each day. WES students have spoken…The Worst Poet Ever by @LorStohler is our favorite book of the year! #WESreads#basdpride
Who wore it best? 😂 We kicked off our One School, One Book initiative in early January with a visit from the BFG! The kids are having so much fun reading all of the wacky words and experiencing all of the adventures of the BFG! #theBFG#RoaldDahl#oneschoolonebook
I made a Halloween breakout room for students. A kiddo stopped me in the hallway to say, “Mrs. Ramirez! You’re trapped in the haunted house! I’m going to help you!!” Day made. 🎃
What a great teacher! Post was by Jacqueline Nicole Thomas. <Alt text: Handle with Care. A thoughtful note sent home from a teacher to parents. Too long for Twitter to allow.>
Y’all. If you are a teacher of reading or writing, this is a MUST READ. If you are a teacher of future teachers, this needs to be in your syllabus. That is all. 😊#uncoveringthelogicofenglish
