I don’t actually know what I’m supposed to do with the knowledge that langdon is like that with mel because patrick is like that with taylor but I’m glad to know it all the same
we need to stop asking actors about ships however it’s so funny to me that taylor and patrick always say their characters are just friends and then accidentally follow that up with the most romantic description of mel and langdon’s dynamic lol
the concept of a married man wanting to understand and figure out another woman when it seems like he doesn’t even know his own wife. dana suggesting a vacation + langdons “what about me,” getting a dog without her knowing, the birthday birkin. just fascinating stuff
loving the fact that the amazing chemistry Mel and Langdon have is because Patrick acknowledges that Taylor knows what she’s doing and because of her experience he can learn from her and he’s continuously following her lead ugh 20/10 wording
you don’t have to ship langdon and mel at all, but to deny the fact that they clearly mean a lot to each other is just so ignorant. the way they understand and connect with each other and how they’re now moving forward as equal friends. it’s so just so sweet i love them
In praising Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball highlights how her guidance on the technical aspects of the job deeply influenced the portrayal of the relationship between Langdon and Mel:
“I wanna figure out how to speak that language cause I know I gotta learn from it and I think that's true about Langdon and Mel and Patrick and Taylor.”
Thank you @PNemiroff! 💛

obviously this is his perspective which is intentionally flawed but it is really funny to hear this thought process when s1 kept hammering in that there was cracks in the marriage well before he even met santos (who really is just a stand in for his own self loathing)
