Happy Friday, Social Cousins!
My birthday is coming up on Monday. & I haven't really celebrated my birthday in like 8 years. This year I want to buy a Kakariki bird.
This is a HUGE ask, but I have to shoot my shot.
Help me bring Syrax home!
I'm using @buymeacoffee to fundraise for her and her supplies.

Let me complain a little bit… cause let’s be for real job hunting is hard. Especially for women returning to the workforce.
I applied to simple entry level jobs off Craigslist. CRAIGSLIST…!!
And I’ve been passed over.
The gap in my resume even though I’ve done my best to stay active with my own professional endeavors. I feel like it’s not enough.
On top of that employers don’t want to hire someone with their own hustle. Which also doesn’t make sense to me.
I mean I get it. But not really.
At the end of the day I have to work 10x harder to get a job to pay the bills because I was a stay at home mom for 8 years. For a moment I thought about getting clever and saying a was a household manager for those years.
Do you think that would work?
Anyway, my last jobs were:
1. lead cleaner for a cleaning company (most recent)
2. kids club team member at a local gym. (2024-2025)
That’s not appealing for the types of companies I am aiming to be employed by.
Okay I’ll leave it here. Just had to get that off.
I pray everyone has a great rest of there day and week.
Let me know if you have any tips for my situation. Other than entrepreneurship…
@MarieIsabellaB I will collect the them and put the remaining water in a pitch with lemon juice and lime slices. Then of course put it in the refrigerator.
All praises to the Most High & Christ for another year around the sun. ☀️
32 years old and a lot of lessons learned. A LOT of life lived.
I’m doing my hair right now and ima show yall later what it looks like. Going for a Rogue from XMen kinda look.
The body that everyone else sees is not the body I see day to day.
Everyday I see myself differently.
Some days I wish for perked titties, a toner stomach, a firm booty. And I know all these things take work.
I love going to the gym.
I love focusing and prioritizing fitness and my wellbeing.
But it’s hard to show up when it feels like nothing is changing.
Or that there is always something new I’m hyper fixating on…
I do love myself.
I do have body dysmorphia.
I do often suffer from eating disorders.
But everyday I CHOOSE to not be my own enemy.
I CHOOSE to fight the negativity and speak life into myself.
It also helps to have a partner the sees me, encourages me, and believes in me.
Sometimes, I do struggle with, “oh you’re just saying that.” But I have to accept that this is really a person only wanting the best for me, like I do.
Moral of the story: KEEP FIGHTING!!
People talk a lot about the positivity that comes with fitness getting stronger, losing weight, gaining muscle, looking better, feeling healthier
But nobody really talks about the weird relationship you can start having with your body while all of this is happening
There’s a level of body dysmorphia that can come with constantly changing your physique
And sometimes, it’s not even because you suddenly look bad. Your brain has simply gotten used to seeing you a certain way
So when your body starts changing, your mind is almost like, “Wait… this isn’t what we look like”
And that can create this constant back-and-forth between how you actually look and how your brain thinks you should look
This is why you have to take your power back
Constantly remind yourself WHY you started. Remind yourself that your body changing doesn’t mean you suddenly became more worthy. You were worthy before the transformation too
And please understand this:
If you didn’t love yourself when you were at the beginning of your weight-loss journey, getting smaller will not magically make you love yourself
You can lose 10kg and still find another thing to hate
You can build your dream body and still feel like it’s not enough
You have to learn to show yourself love, gratitude and affection throughout the journey not just when you finally look the way you want
So if you’re starting or currently going through any kind of fitness journey, this is your reminder:
Don’t just train your body
Train your mind to accept, appreciate and be grateful for the body you’re building
Take your power back
Stay blessed ❤️
Swag jackers are the worst.
Hand down the most annoying individuals.
But there people who will say,
“Who cares if they say it or not?”
Yall undermine the value of credit. Like give credit where credit is due.
If I got you fired up, inspired, etc then acknowledge that. It could mean a lot.
