β"The air inside the abandoned dockyard warehouse was thick with tension, smelling of salt, wet concrete, and the acrid tang of gunpowder. A relentless rain hammered on the metal roof, muffling everything except the sharp, focused breathing of two people: Jennifer Curneen and Abe Tempel.
Jennifer stood rigid, her Glock 19M steady, aimed square at Abe's chest. Her eyes, usually haunted, were now narrowed into pinpricks of icy certainty."
@bamideled10 I couldn't find the tension I was looking forβI couldn't find many stories that deeply explored trust dynamics.
So I decided to write them myself just so I could read themβI had to create my own.
But the exact moment that sparked it? Take a look: π

This moment inspired my writing. The way Cal surrenders to Emilyβnot knowing if she believes him yet, but refusing to be a threat... absolutely beautiful. I had to explore what happens right after a powerful scene like this.

My characters take hot showers all the time, and currently I only have access to cold ones... πΏ
It hits harder in the eveningsβwriting them taking scalding hot showers while preparing to face freezing waters myself... π₯Άπ

My character is eating a 5-course royal banquet, but Iβm starving because I forgot to eat lunch 7 hours ago.π
As soon as my characterβs halfway through dessert, I finally crawl out of my cave at midnight.

@tarianvale I believe AI is a tool that is out there to be used. We just need to figure it out how to use it wisely. Haters are going to hate no matter what... π‘
It is so hard to step outside your natural writing style! Having to suddenly plot things out when you just want to let the story flow is incredibly frustrating. Writing my 8-book saga didn't require many adjustments as everything just ended up falling into place. Trust the universe! Don't be too hard on yourselfβhang in there with the trilogy! π«π
I write so I can read it! π
It's the best way to ensure it is perfectly tailored to my own likes.
As I couldn't find the tension I was looking for, I had to create my own. πβοΈ

And why do *you* write #WritingCommunity?
Why do you write?
Just a desperate writer asking dumb questions to get some interactionβ¦

I loved the idea that reading a book is to recreate a feeling π₯°
This is why writing is so magical, you can tailor the exact feeling you want to experience. It's like casting a spell! πͺπ
In my case: the thrill & tension of learning how to trust someone ππ€

The search for a new book after a 5-star read is often desperate. You swipe through lists and stare at your bookshelf. You aren't actually looking for a new book. Youβre trying to recreate a feeling, which may be impossible!π₯΅

@MitchellDHadley Thanks! Since he is a military psychiatrist, he has some very interesting takes on the main characters' dynamics. He's there observing and giving his thoughts on those nuances the reader might not have picked up. ππ€
#TheTrustSaga is in 3rd person, but dives deep into inner thoughts.
There's also a special character who analyzes the MCs' dynamics through outside lens, heightening the experience! π
It adds a peculiar psychological layer... π€―
A #PsychologicalThriller w/ #DarkRomance vibes.
Hiii. I'm just curious... is it true that third person omniscient is running out of salt?
yes people like it. but a majority of people like first person
Movies & especially TV shows. πΊ
My books were actually inspired by #Absentia.
Why I started writing: to explore what would happen in a certain dynamic between the main characters.
Then, months later, I have an 8-book saga. π«£

Everyone says writers should read, but do you take inspiration from other media as well? I don't read as much as I should (just on weekends) but I do play a lot of video games and I've found some tremendous stories there.
@abdelkaderbr Hi, just letting you know it's not for free on my marketplace... So you might want to take a look at Amazon's configurations. Some other authors were having similar issues. Hope you sort that out, the book seems interesting! Everyone is needing some silence nowadays... π«
@MitchellDHadley That is a common self-preservation mechanism. And it's only increasing... I can imagine how hard it must be for people with real trust issues nowadays... If it's complicated for everyday individuals, it must be near impossible for deeply traumatized operatives... π«
#TheTrustSaga features a mentor who appears in the latter booksβa weathered military psychiatrist πͺπ₯Ό
He will try to help the main characters with their weaponized triggers π«π§
But first he needs to be worthy of their trust! π
A #PsychologicalThriller w/ #DarkRomance vibes.
#QOTD! Do you have a mentor character in your book?
Flight: We have 2 mentor characters who pop up. 1: Wolf (the leader of the group the MC joins) and Wild (a character we meet near the end of the book who will fully step into the mentor role going into book 2).

@TheRidgePlan I've already sent its sample to my Kindle to add it to my TBR list π I really enjoy seeing what could happen in those scenarios... it helps us better ourselves.
