His eyes have seen unspeakable bloodshed. His feet have grown weary from funeral after funeral — burying his own church members slaughtered by Fulani jihadists seizing ancestral lands and imposing mini-caliphates in villages south of Jos.

But Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo will not break. In the heart of Plateau State, central Nigeria, he stays to encourage the living and keep the faith alive.

There was a day I almost didn’t go to Mass.

Not because I didn’t love God.

I was just tired.

Tired of trying. Tired of thinking. Tired of carrying things I couldn’t fix. I remember thinking, “Lord, I don’t even know what to say to You anymore.”

But I went anyway.

I sat there quietly, trying to hold myself together.

Then came the moment when I knelt before Jesus in the Eucharist.

And something about that moment broke me.

Because I realised that I had walked into that church thinking I needed to tell God everything…

when perhaps He already knew.

I didn’t need the perfect prayer.

I didn’t need to have my life figured out.

I just needed to be there.

And as I left Mass that day, my problems hadn’t magically disappeared.

The bills were still there.
The unanswered questions were still there.
Life was still life.

But somehow, my heart was lighter.

That is one of the blessings of being Catholic that I struggle to explain to people who haven’t experienced it.

We have a place to go when life hurts.

We have the Eucharist.
We have Confession.
We have the Rosary.
We have Mary.
We have the Saints.
We have the Mass.

And most importantly, we have Jesus.

Maybe that’s why, no matter how many times life knocks me down, I keep going back.

Not because I am a perfect Catholic.

But because I have discovered that when I have nowhere else to go…

I can always go home to Jesus. ❤️‍🩹

15 promises of the Rosary.

1. Those who faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.

2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.

3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell. It will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

4. The recitation of the Rosary will cause virtue and good works to flourish. It will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God. It will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.

5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary shall not perish.

6. Those who recite my Rosary devoutly, applying themselves to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. In His justice, God will not chastise them; nor shall they perish by an unprovided death, i.e., be unprepared for heaven. Sinners shall convert. The just shall persevere in grace and become worthy of eternal life.

7. Those who have a true devotion to the Rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.

8. Those who faithfully recite the Rosary shall have, during their life and at their death, the light of God and the plenitude of His graces. At the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.

9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.

10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in heaven.

11. By the recitation of the Rosary, you shall obtain all that you ask of me.

12. Those who propagate the holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.

13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of their death.

14. All who recite the Rosary are my beloved children and the brothers and sisters of my only Son, Jesus Christ.

15. Devotion for my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

Father Brent Bowman’s statement about his Eucharistic experience during Mass at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, where he wept while consecrating the chalice.

“I felt the heaviness of Jesus’s substantial presence in the chalice in my hands. The chalice became too heavy to hold as I felt it pulled down to rest upon the altar. I felt my hands fixed to the chalice of the Precious Blood, and I could not physically move it. Attempting to elevate the Precious Blood, which I was not able to do for a period of time, I believe I was given grace to understand more deeply the bitter sweetness of Our Lord’s Passion and how much blood Christ shed for the immense weight of all our sins.”

In the first video, a Catholic priest weeps during the consecration prayer overcome with the reality of what's happening. This incident happened at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church at Hopkins, Minnesota. The priest later said that at one point he couldn't even lift the chalice as it felt heavy on his hands.

In the second video, a couple can be seen breaking down in tears after receiving Jesus on their wedding day.

When you know the reality of Jesus, His inexhaustible love and thirst for each soul, this is what happens. You break down. You weep. You fall at His knees.

He loved us to the Cross. He loves us to be broken every day. He loves us so deeply and so profoundly that he reduced himself to a piece of bread.

Oh profound love, how can I ever love Thee back...

During Mass at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church in Hopkins, Minnesota, Fr. Brent Bowman was overcome with emotion while consecrating the chalice.

He later described receiving an "experiential knowledge" of Christ’s Blood shed for us and said he could barely lift the chalice.

Fr. Brent Bowman was saying Mass at St. Gabriel the Archangel in Hopkins MN. He was given a special realization of what truly happens at every mass. May we never take it for granted.

A Catholic priest began weeping during the consecration, then later said he experienced Jesus shedding His Blood as the chalice became too heavy to lift... ⤵️

The moment happened during Mass at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in Hopkins, Minnesota. As he consecrated the chalice, the priest became visibly emotional. He later described experiencing Christ shedding His Blood and said that, at one point, the chalice felt so heavy he struggled to raise it.

This was the priest’s personal experience, not an officially declared Eucharistic miracle. But it points to something Catholics already believe happens at every Mass.

Jesus is not sacrificed again. Rather, the one sacrifice of Calvary is made sacramentally present on the altar. The same Jesus who gave His Body and Blood for us on the Cross is truly present in the Eucharist, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.

We may never see or feel anything extraordinary at Mass, but what is happening before us is already extraordinary.

How differently would you approach Mass if you truly remembered what is happening on that altar?

💬 Have you ever had a moment at Mass where the reality of the Eucharist suddenly hit you differently? What happened?
