@DaleStarkA10@DavidChilson1 In Arkansas, a lot of extra room in a hive is an invitation to wax moths; however, since you’ve already put it on the hive, I would probably leave it.
Kudos to you for taking up beekeeping!
@DaleStarkA10 The hive looks healthy. Having to build comb takes more time than filling it with honey. An established hive already has comb, a swarm does not. If they fill up the brood box by first of August, they are doing good. I don’t expect a honey harvest from a swarm until year two
@MeNMyRC1@MCCCANM Don’t forget the dry suit when flying over the Bering Sea and the Arctic.
Just remembered, yesterday was the 45th anniversary of the Cobra Ball (664) crash at Shemya. RIP SSgts Harry Parsons and Steven Balcer.
@windrdr_hobbs@boomers_ass Oh man! There was nothing like a 17 hour mission with two aerial refuelings while sitting on a butt boat that tilted sideways with a parachute as a back rest.
Do the backend crew still go through the survival schools or did they remove that fun as well?
@CyborgPeds I didn’t know! But coke from Mexico with real sugar is definitely better. Now I’m curious if coke with a yellow cap is sold in my area. I wish Coca Cola would go sugar instead of corn syrup all the time.
@KurtSchlichter The only time I ever had crab legs was at Fairchild AFB. That was after 5 days in land survival where I had a total on one MCI ration (before MREs) for the entire 5 days. I did not feel guilty.
@infantrydort@KurtSchlichter I hope every tax dollar collected from me goes to feed our troops. The more hot, delicious meals the better. Eat well soldier.
@KellyCarl12@infantrydort@MollyJongFast What??? I enjoy a fried spam sandwich on occasion. Plus it has a shelf life of like a thousand years so it has to be good for you.
@CyborgPeds Looks good to me considering a large number of sailors have already gone through the line. It is normal for people to complain about the food in the military. Unfortunately, cooks never get a thank you, just complaints. The people complaining need to pull more KP!
@CyborgPeds Unpopular opinion. I don’t enjoy losing an hour’s sleep tonight, but I appreciate more daylight hours after working hours in the summers and an early sunrise in the winter.
@JLSeymour3@CyborgPeds Monterey was a beautiful area, but the people in San Angelo were much nicer to military personnel in the late 70s. I enjoyed Lake Nasty Water more than the ocean anyway.
@boomers_ass Ah Shemya…not exactly the Pacific Island paradise of my dreams.
So what is a Bear Bomber mission? Sounds like an interesting article to post.
@boomers_ass It was quite an honor because he was very much respected in the Electronic Security Command.
Did you ever deploy to Eielson AFB, Alaska and aerial refuel the RC-135V/W or S aircraft?
