A SpaceX intern once described eating lunch next to Elon Musk in the company cafeteria.
The intern said Elon sat down at a regular table with a regular tray of food. No entourage. No reserved section. He sat next to two junior engineers who were clearly terrified. One of them was explaining a problem with a valve component to the other.
Elon listened without introducing himself or interrupting. After about three minutes he turned to the engineer and said "have you tried running it at a lower pressure gradient first." The engineer stared at him. Then realized the CEO of the company had just casually solved a problem his team had been stuck on for a week.
The intern said what happened next was the part that surprised him. Elon didn't leave. Didn't check his phone. He spent the next twenty minutes asking the engineers questions about their work. Not CEO questions about timelines and budgets. Engineering questions about fluid dynamics and material stress tolerances. He was genuinely curious. The cafeteria conversation was indistinguishable from a technical review.
The intern said he understood in that moment why people work 80-hour weeks for this man. Not because he's inspiring. Not because he pays well. Because he's the only CEO in the world who sits in the cafeteria and solves your engineering problem between bites of a burrito.
People follow leaders who are above them. People worship leaders who sit next to them and prove they understand the work better than the people doing it.
As a Brit, we don't have Tesla FSD (Full Self Driving) yet. So as part of the family holiday, I hired a Cybertruck for 3 weeks to do a bit of a California road trip to see if FSD really is as good as some of the YouTube videos I've seen.
We've done over 1000 miles in it so far and WOW...
Put some rough clips together to show our Day 1 using it etc. No exaggeration, it drove from Venice Beach in LA all the way to Monterey via Big Sur and then to Lake Tahoe with zero interventions. And loads of little trips as well. It's just incredible.
I really cannot wait for FSD to be allowed in the UK. The moment it is likely, I'm buying a brand new Tesla just for FSD. It's really THAT good...
So… @RottenTomatoes
3 days ago I posted my clean, spoiler-free review of The Odyssey with a 2.5/5. As of today, it still has not been posted.
I created a new account 2 hours ago. I posted a glowing fake review with a 5/5. It went public in less than an hour.
What a joke.
Getting diagnosed with an incurable disease is the best thing to happen to me in a long time.
My project shifted overnight from longevity staples to disease resolution and frontier biotech.
We have so many awesome things cooking.
🚨 JUST IN: Tom Homan just got emotional about violence against ICE then STORMED OFF from the press
"I can't even get a carton of milk at a grocery store without a security detail! WHY? Because I'm enforcing laws. IT'S PATHETIC AND IT'S DISGUSTING." 💯
"Guys — ICE agents are moms and dads TOO."
"It's not just an attack on the ICE agents, it's an attack on their spouses and children! No one knows that better than ME."
God bless Tom Homan. 🇺🇸
@ChuckCook It is still not required for safe operation of the vehicle. Connectivity is primarily meant for navigation, customer service and, in general, fleet management.
#WM
@justinbieber Thanks @justinbieber for the pure love and calm in your song. My wife and I were making fun of all the other acts, but you changed the place and touched our hearts. Thank you.
Justin Bieber with JUST his singing voice and an acoustic guitar smashed every single other performer.
Wasn’t even a close contest, was clearly the best.
Just him and a guitar… super impressive.
@peruvian_bull It’s not an illusion. Global productivity is the key metric for success. This has to be compared to the Fed’s balance sheet. Some, like 10-year phases, it will be up, flat, or down, but the next years will see a big wave of disruptive, more productive industries.
