I hear a lot of talk that we should be living in a post scarcity society by this time, and that any scarcity we do see is artificial. But then we see industries where we have a post scarcity situation, and people hate it. See book publishing and photography, for example.
I feel like maybe if TikTok is being forced into a sale, and they don't want to sell, their stuff might get forcibly sold to someone who has recently bought another social network, and is buddies with a prominent politician. Wouldn't that be convenient...
So Bethesda and wow developers have unionized. That's great. But why form two unions? Aren't they better off forming a giant video game developers union together? If there is strength in numbers, wouldn't you want even larger numbers?
I had to stop reading the witcher. I got about 3.5 books in, and it just wasn't very well written. It really wasn't capturing my imagination, it was slow and plodding, and just outright boring.

You know what I miss? Gas stations. Especially late at night. Living in the city means I don't have a car, which in turn means I don't need gas stations. But I miss going in there for a drink or snack. There's a special atmosphere in gas stations.
